    3. ELGIN - Anna M. Willis, 93, of Elgin passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at The Vines at Countryside of Elgin. She was born November 21, 1921 in Sesser, IL the daughter of Hirl L. and Opal G. Dethrow Cockrum and had lived in Elgin since 1952. Anna was a member, since 1980 of First Baptist Church, Elgin where while she was able was a constant volunteer in various capacities and a proud member of the Friendship Group. She had been employed by Chicago Rawhide for 14 years and volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital, a position she loved for over 20 years. Anna was a loving, devoted mother of her three children that survive her, Richard L. (Donna) Willis of Elgin, Joyce A. (Floyd) Cork of Hampshire and Harold "Dean" (Melinda) Willis of West Dundee; her much loved grandchildren, John Lucas, Divona Crawford, Richeal Smith, Randy Willis, Dave Vogle, Frank Vogle, Jeffrey Willis, Anthony Willis and Paige Willis, and step grandchildren, Bryan Cork and Brenda Kross; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Katherine Tope of Woodriver, IL and Nola Bogosian of Oak Forest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1979 and a brother Ross. A special thank you from the family goes to The Vines at Countryside for the constant loving, personal care that was given during our loved one's stay. Also, thank you to her faithful friends, Betty Peabody, Evelyn Francois and Lois Wan who remembered her so often with cards throughout the years. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12 at First Baptist Church, Elgin from 9:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is assisting the family.
