Lair, 72, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. She was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Bluford, Ill., to Charles and Edna Richardson Martin. She married Carl E. Lair on Nov. 29, 1959, in Fairfield, Ill. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2014. She also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Delores and Midge; and brothers, Robert and Melvin. She is survived by her children, Rebecca A. (Dean) Lair Bergman of Braidwood, Ill., Charles L. (Sharadawn) Lair of Creve Coeur, Ill., Laurie J. Lair of Peoria Heights, Ill., Michael E. Lair of Peoria, Ill., and Scott A. (Angie) Lair of Peoria, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Liz) Martin of Braidwood, Ill., and James Martin of Mount Vernon, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Peggy loved her flowers and gardens. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the,American Cancer Society,for breast cancer research in her name.
