    3. Parker-Reedy Funeral Home Website Mar 30, 2015 (Photo) Bill Walton stepped into the arms of Jesus on March 28, 2015, from Herrin Hospital. He was 85 years of age. He was born on May 3, 1929 to Albert and Mattalou Walton in West Frankfort, Illinois. On March 10, 1950, he married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Taylor. They spend 65 years together, during which time they had four children. He was employed by Orient #2 mines up until the time of its explosion in 1951. At that time he helped to remove his friends and coworkers from the mines that had suffered from the blast. He then bought a hotel in Bluford, Illinois. From there he bought an apartment building in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and also worked as an electrician. The couple later moved back to West Frankfort where Bill joined I.B.E.W. and worked as an electrician for various contractors for several years. Southeastern Power Co-op Power Plant was his final career move, where he worked for over 25 years. After retirement, Bill and Wanda traveled seeing many wonderful sites and enjoying each other's company. He especially enjoyed Hawaii. Even though Bill had a gratifying career as an electrician, he was always striving to learn more. During this time he acquired his First Class Radio License, and Real Estate Brokers License. He was a beloved member of Faith Assembly Fellowship Church, long time Board Member and Men's Sunday School Teacher. He served as Secretary Treasure for many years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Wanda, his four children: Carolyn (Frank) Price, Gail Keele, Warren (Barbara) Walton, Philip (Dellinda) Walton; Eleven grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa) Darnell, Adam Darnell, David Gostowski, Don (Crystal) Bullette, Peter (Amy) Bullette, Dustin Keele, Aaron (Kristin) Walton, Alison Walton, Hope (Sean) Kruer, Joye Walton, Chalan Walton; sister-in-law, Joy (Charlie)Cash and a brother-in-law, Dennis (Marlene) Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mattalou; sister, Geraldine Morgan; brother, Eugene Walton; granddaughter, Katie Keele; son-in-law, Rick Keele. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, in Faith Assembly Fellowship, 1819 South Everett St, West Frankfort, Illinois with Rev. Philip Walton and Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the West Frankfort Wit and Wisdom and will be accepted at the funeral. Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.
