James Otis Smith 7/7/1946 - 3/17/2015 James Otis Smith, 68, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:03 p.m. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale - Carbondale, Illinois. He was born July 7, 1946 in Anna, Illinois to Otis T. and Audrey Aline Smith. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; member of Faith Assembly Fellowship - West Frankfort, Illinois; also a member of the Teamsters and the GWRRA Motorcycle Club. He was a Nascar fan and loved working on cars. Jim loved all of his bus kids. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Rose Smith of West Frankfort; son, Dustin J. Smith of Chicago, IL; two daughters: Beth Smith of West Frankfort and Tawana (Jeff) Regel of Boubonnais, IL; two brothers: Buster Smith of Portage, IN and Justin Smith of Denver, CO; five sisters: Linda Pescador of Centerville, IA; Donna (John) Eldridge of West Frankfort; Vickie Watson of Wolflake, IL; Sharron (Steve) Langevn of Bourbonnais, IL; and Cathy Smith of Denver, CO; two grandchildren: Austin and Ethan Regel; aunt: Ruby Tweedy of Goreville, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Jim Trost of Kankakee, IL and Ronnie Johnson of Pulaski, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois with Pastor Gary Brown officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Faith Assembly Fellowship - West Frankfort, Illinois.
