Mt. Vernon Register-News, Mt. Vernon, IL March 17, 2015 Rose Marie Ashleman, 82, of Nason, passed away 11:50 a.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. She was born in Nason on June 1, 1932, a daughter of Howard and Mildred Lucille (McGovern) Cochran. She was married to George Gerald Ashleman. Rose was a nurse's aide and later in life became a licensed practical nurse. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Rose is survived by her sons, George Robert Ashleman of Nason, James Michael Ashleman of Nason, Dan Ashleman and wife Sharon of Sophia, N.C. and Howard Ashleman and wife Amy of Dix; daughter, Teresa Rose Ashleman of Warrenville; eight sisters, Virginia Walters, Betty Dennis, Mary Artel, Carol Reed, Ruth Kirby, Linda Collins, Diana Milligan and Nancy Milligan; two brothers, Dannie Cochran and James Cochran; seventeen grandchildren, Liz Marie Ashleman, Daniel Ashleman, Nathaniel Ashleman, Samuel Ashleman, Allison Ashleman, Amy I. R. Ashleman, Amber Ashleman, Howard Ashleman Jr., Joseph Ashleman, David Ashleman, Autumn Ashleman, Brian Ashleman, Paul Buck, John Mulvey, Patricia Mulvey, Timothy Mulvey and Peter Mulvey; one great-granddaughter, Mia Harris; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Patricia Ashleman, Donna Ashleman and John Ashleman; one brother, Donald Cochran; and a son-in-law, James Mulvey. Funeral services for Rose Marie Ashleman will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nason Freewill Baptist Church in Nason with the Rev. Daniel Jewell officiating. Visitation will be at the Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The family receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
