Coleton Lee Young-Chamness, 6, of West Frankfort passed away March 1, 2015 in the Herrin Hospital. He was born February 16, 2009 in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion to Melissa Young and Carlton Chamness. Survivors include his parents; sisters, Charlee Jane Young-Chamness age 4 and Bailie Chamness age 10 of Ballwin, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Young of West Frankfort; paternal grandmother, Angie Durham of Tn.; great grandmothers, Shirley White of Carterville and Jan Wisneschi of Tn.; great aunt Martha McLaskey and great uncle Dave Butler of West Frankfort; great uncle, Brad (Carol) Young of Chesterfield, Mo.; aunt Dorothy and uncle Aaron O’Bright and cousins, Liam and Hattie O’Bright all of Johnston City; cousins, Katherine, Emily and Laura Young. aunt, Grace Chamness honorary uncle Dustin Hammers of West Frankfort and aunt, Robyn Chamness of Herrin; uncle, David Groves of West Frankfort; cousins, Alana Hammers of West Frankfort, Hudson and Tai Holland of Herrin; aunt, Janet (Jerry) Studstill of Mo.; cousins, Kimberly Matthew, Kyndall and Kennedy Scroblus all of Mo.; aunt, Marsha Alsop and cousin, Bradley Alsop of Tx.; cousins, Rachel (Bill) Carlson of Fl. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Roger and Dorothy Young; paternal great grandfather, maternal great grandparents, Reba and Charles Young; maternal grandfather, Joelfred Dawson; paternal grandfather, Robbie Chamness; maternal great-great grandmother, Mozelle Carney. Coleton really loved four wheelers and his dirt bike, his bb gun, bow and arrow and his dog Max. He was in Molly Brown’s kindergarten class at Denning School. He played t-ball for two years and played Upward Basketball at First Christian Church.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the First Christian Church in West Frankfort with Jason Ishmael and Uncle Brad Young officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery on Orient Road. Visitation will be after 12:00 p.m. noon Saturday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Denning School to purchase a bench in memory of Coleton.
