    3. Mar 14, 2015 Hobbs Johnson Funeral Home Website Southern Illinoisan Website (Photo) BENTON -- Katheryn Williams, 87, died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Helia Heathcare of Benton. Mrs. Williams was born May 2, 1927, in Benton, the daughter of John A. Logan Crisp and Opal M. (McCarty) Crisp. She married James T. Williams on Jan. 25, 1947, and he preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1997. Mrs. Williams was a retail clerk at Kroger's before her retirement, a member and Sunday school teacher and church treasurer at the Steel City Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. She is survived by two sons, James A. Williams and wife, Valorie of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and Kirby Williams and wife, Paula of Benton; a daughter, Peggy and husband, Mike Poole of Benton; four grandchildren, Wade Williams, Brent Williams, Justin Poole and wife, April, Andy Poole and wife, Leslie, all of Benton; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Tanner and Kaytee Williams, Alivia, Brock and Ethan Poole, one great-great-grandson, Jaxson Whiting; three sisters, Martha Carlton of Benton, June Gasky of Hammond, Indiana, and Sandy and husband, Melvin, Neal of Whittington; and a brother, Donald Crisp of Benton. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Wanda Piazza and Joan Crisp; and five brothers, Roger, Keith, John Robert, Clarence Ray Crisp and George Crisp. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, in Hobb-Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Brady Cemetery in Akin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Steel City Missionary Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
