    3. So sorry to hear of Hallie's passing. I visited with him in 2009 and went through old WTHS yearbooks with him and Leuty Chambliss and between the two of them it seemed they knew everyone. Hallie was a classmate of my mom's at WTHS. I have his senior class photo from the 1942 yearbook as well as their 50th class reunion photo (which also included my mom in it.) So many from this class are now gone. I thought I would share the WTHS Class of 1942 "Senior Prophecy" from their yearbook for you to enjoy: WTHS Class of 1942 Senior Prophecy As I was gazing at the heavens last night, each twinkling little star seemed to reveal my senior classmates to me as they would be five years from now. First I looked at the start, Alcar, and saw the Austin sisters. Sleanor, still happily married was taking Robert Jr. to the county fair to have her sister, Eileen, tell his fortune. Next I noticed the star, Bellatrix, and in this I saw Eugene Baker as president of the Liars' Club in New York City. Then in the star, Betelguse, I saw Deloris Beck, the famous radio entertainer just signing off station V-E-G-A. Toward the east, I saw two bright stars and presently, Rosamary Bell appeared as sisstance nurse in the office of Dr. Eldred Lee of Bluford. And by the way, Dr. Lee was giving Dr. Goodrich some stiff competition! Who should I see walking down the Milky Way but Dean Breeze, a milk pail in each hand. It seemed he was working on a large dairy farm in Wayne City owned by Earl Thomason. When I looked toward the West, I saw Lucille Brookman, proprietor of the Beauty Nook, giving Mrs. Lavon Payne, formerly Jerry Clemons, a pedicure, of all things! As I turned to toward the south I saw Marjorie Bundy working as a switchboard operator in Fulton, Ky., and of course happily married to a R.R. man. Then appeared Doris Davis an dLeona De Journett, both looking spick and span in Red Cross Nurse's uniforms. Of course, Doris had enlisted so she could take care of Harry Culli, her soldier boy. In Hyades, I saw Jamaes Hiatt carrying a lunch paid and singing, "I've Been Working on the Railroad." (I think the word should be pail, not paid). Next, I saw Dale Huff, Bluford's only barbewr, doing good business in his new shop. What's those two lights I saw movingi across the sky? Why it's the lights of an airliner flying over, with pilot Harold L. Yarbrough and hostess Doroty Johnson. Then the beams of another car directed my attention to an office in Washington, D.C., where I saw Berdella Lee as a successful typist. As I gazed at Mizar, the double star, I saw the Lewis Brothers. Hallie, the successful salesman, was selling his useful gadgets to Wawrren and his wife, the former Glenna Dickey of Wayne City. Just then a fiery disturbance broke out on Sirius, and I was amazed to see Verna Outland throw a rolling pin at Hubert. Guess who was the P.E. teacher at the new High School. Yes, that's right -- Evelyn Parker. And the basketball coach for good old B.H.S. was none other than Howard Street. When I turned and looked at the star, Spica, I saw another railroader; Glendon Shields was doing well as a switchman on the I.C. Next, I saw Mrs. Arthur Lovin, the former Miss Esther Swartzlander, busy the children off to school. Byron Vance appeared as a successful mechanist in the U.S. Army, ably assisted by Junior Young. Eugene Wiley had finished his day's work as an electrician and was hurrying home to Anita, his wife. Then Millard Williams appeared as proprietor of the general store in Marlowe, Ill. Marion Young was an efficient librarian at the Mt. Vernon library. Signed: Dorothy Johnson (my mom's 1st cousin) Witness by: Berdella Lee Doris Davis (my mom) Sandy (Whalen) Bauer > On March 25, 2015 at 2:46 PM Larry Lance via <iljeffer@rootsweb.com> wrote: > > > Mt.
