Moyer, 71, of Benton, died at 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon. She was born Sept. 25, 1943, in Patoka, Indiana, to Leonard and Goldie Augusta (McCrary) Bishop. She married Gerald L. Moyer on June 18, 1966. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2005. Madeline attended Third Baptist Church in West Frankfort. For over 20 years she worked as the cafeteria cook at Benton Middle School. She is survived by her daughter, Anna (Tracy) Henderson of Herrin; grandchildren, Jerry, Joseph and Gabbrianna Henderson also of Herrin; stepson, Gary Moyer of Evansville, Indiana; stepdaughter, Lori Koss of Newburg, Indiana; brothers, Jim (Lois) Bishop and Don Eugen (Donna) Bishop both of Patoka, Indiana; sister, Ellen Y. Roach of Oakland City, Indiana; and very dear friend, Brenda Behn of West Frankfort. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Jack and Vaughn Bishop; and one sister, Anna Lee. Services will be at 5 p.m. Monday, April 6, in Crain Funeral Home Egyptian Chapel, with Pastor James Kerley officiating. Inurnment will follow in Egyptian Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the funeral home chapel. Memorials may be made to PAWS and will be accepted at the funeral home.
