Dorothy E. Whobrey, 91 of Mount Vernon, Illlinois died at 12:10 A.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Benton Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Benton, Illinois. She was born Monday, February 4, 1924 in Woodlawn, Illinois. The daughter of John S. & Anna (Filberth) Eubank. She married Roger A. Whobrey on October 16, 1941 in Saint Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1999. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Denning Cemetery, West Frankfort…, Illinois with Mr. Randy Sells officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois Interment will follow at the Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort, Illinois Dorothy is survived by: 2 Sons: Roger Wayne Whobrey and wife Sandy of Carlsbad, New Mexico Allen Duane Whobrey and wife Paula of West Frankfort, Illinois Daughter: Sharon Ann Finney of Valier, Illinois 5 Grandchildren: Christopher Whobrey and wife Jennifer, Michelle Whobrey Wilson, Melinda Whobrey Smith, Kendra Ziems, Rhonda Hoffart Roule and husband Sidney 10 Great Grandchildren: Collins Whobrey, Zackary Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Dakota Wilson, Preston McClerren, Courtney Stanton and Kristen Stanton, Amanda Ziems Evans and husband Matt, Brock Ziems and Morgan Ziems Great-Great Grandson: Jacob Evans Several Nieces and Nephews also survive Her parents, her husband, son-in-law: Ray Finney and one sister: Louisabell Greenwalt preceded her in death. Dorothy worked for Blades’ Bakery in West Frankfort and later at a dress factory in the Herrin area. She loved gardening and was of the Methodist Faith.
