Mt. Vernon Register-News Mar 26, 2015 Dale "DJ" Dudley, Jr., 41, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2015, at his home. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on June 4, 1973, the son of Dale and Dana (Pickett) Dudley. He was a gun enthusiast. DJ was an outdoorsman who loved to garden, fish and swim. He also loved animals and fireworks. He is survived by his wife, Nina Dudley of Madison; daughter, Alyssa Dudley of Mt. Vernon; son, Kalib Brown of West Frankfort; parents, Dana and Dale Dudley; two stepchildren, Madison and Zakk Marion of Madison; two brothers, Troy Dudley and wife Samantha of Carbondale and Kevin Dudley and wife Teri of Junction; and three nephews, Dash, Drake and Ralph Dudley. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Eva Easley and Eileen Dudley. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Mt. Vernon Baptist Temple with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Abner Cemetery in Nason. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. today at the church. There will be a meal at the church following the service at the cemetery. The Johnston Funeral Home in Ina is in charge of arrangements.
