    2.   Irene Vaught, age 85, of Woodlawn, Illinois passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at her home in Woodlawn. Irene worked as a switchboard operator at the elegant Hotel Emmerson in Mount Vernon and later, for a time worked at the Mount Vernon Car Shops.  She owned and operated Vaught’s Answering Service until retiring, and she was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at St. Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with The Very Reverend Father John Iffert presiding.  There will be no public visitation.  Interment at St. Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.  For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Vaught, Jr. and wife Mary Beth of Washington, Indiana, Karl Vincent Vaught and wife Betty of Evansville, Indiana, Sam Vaught of Woodlawn, Illinois , Rex Vaught of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sister - Anna Mitroy of California; Eight Grandchildren, Four Great-Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.Irene Vaught was born Wednesday, September 25, 1929 in Buckner, Illinois daughter of George and Anna Mitroy.  She married Charles Vaught on March 24, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2012.  Her parents, a granddaughter: Jessica Vaught and two brothers: John and George Mitroy preceded her in death.
