Helen (Mitchell) Conner, 91, born in Carrier Mills, on Sept. 21, 1923, passed away Feb. 13, 2015, in Ocala, Fla., at loving Estelle’s House - hospice facility.  Helen was raised in Mt. Vernon and spent many years living in Ina, Pascagoula, Miss., and Lochloosa, Fla. Helen was an awesome wife, mother, grandma, friend and loving human. Her main focus throughout her life was ensuring her husband, three sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren received the best of her love, attention and home cooked meals. Helen’s surviving family are her loving husband of 74 years, Paul Conner, 94, residing in Ocala, Fla.; eldest sons, Robert Conner of Richland, Wash., and Gilbert Conner of Lochloosa, Fla.; five granddaughters, April (Conner) Simmons of Lochloosa, Fla., Lisa (Conner) Schwartz of Stanton, N.D., Crystal Conner of Richland, Wash., Tina (Conner) Townson of Mobile, Ala., and Carla (Conner) Odom of Saraland, Ala.; three grandsons, Paul Robert Conner of Ocala, Fla., Gregory Conner of Kirkland, Wash., and Cory Conner of Phoenix City, Ala.; three great-granddaughters, Brandi Simmons of Hawthorne, Fla., Taylor Webb of Richland, Wash., and Sidney Conner of Phoenix City, Ala.; and four great-grandsons, Nicholas Webb of Richland, Wash., Taylor and Connor Odom of Saraland, Ala., and Garrett Casteele in Athens, Ala. Helen was preceded in death by her youngest son, James Conner; granddaughter, Tarena (Conner) Casteele; younger sister, Betty (Mitchell) Sullivan; brothers, Glendall and Carl Mitchell; and parents, Robert “Otto” Mitchell and Blanche (Harrison) Mitchell.
