    2.   Margie Louise Ray, 88 passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb.12, 2015, at Angel Acres. She was born May 14, 1926 at home in Prosperity the daughter of Herman and Marietta (Brown) Davis. She married Harry F. Ray on March 9, 1944 and he survives. Together they shared 70 years, 11 months and 3 days of marriage. Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be missed greatly. She enjoyed senior lunches at Andresen’s with her friends until her health failed. In her early years she loved to play softball, hunt and fish. She also enjoyed going to Crab Orchard Lake and staying on the houseboat. She was very proud to be the matriarch of 3 sets of 5 generations. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Herrin, Illinois. Margie is survived by her husband, three daughters, Barbara Buckner and Mary Ray Foster both of Johnston City, Sheryl Ray-Eaton of Herrin, Daughter in-law, Jean Ann Ray of Johnston City. Grandchildren, David Buckner, Jeff Buckner, of Johnston City. Ashlea Ray of Chicago, Dana Morris (Shannon) of West Frankfort, Jamie Brush (Allan) of Creal Springs, Steven Ray (April) of Herrin. Samantha Bean (Josh) and Harry Ray III (Lacy) of Stiritz, Daniel Ray of Johnston City. Abby Eaton and Ricky Eaton of Herrin. 20 great grandchildren and 11 great -great grandchildren. Sister in-law Margaret Cobb of Richmond Hill, Ga., an uncle Floyd (Loudene) Davis of Boise, Iowa, several nieces and nephews and a special cousin Barbara (Brown) Noller of Seattle, Wa. Also a wonderful friend, helper and caregiver Richard Pasquino of Herrin. She was proceeded in death by her parents, one sister Mable Evelyn, and three brothers, Vernon, Lowell and infant Marvin. Two sons, Jackie Dean Ray and Harry Ray Jr. Granddaughter Kailey Nichole Bean. Son-in-law, Brad Buckner. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with services at 3:00 p.m. Sunday Feb. 15, Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Ivan Ryan officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Food Pantry in Johnston City, Angel Acres and Shriners Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Angel Acres for their excellent and loving care.
