The Benton Evening News, December 9, 2002 Christopher - Flora E. Patchett , 94, of Christopher, died at 11:20 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Brother Dennis Jones and the Rev. David McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Buckner. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Patchett was born June 6, 1908, in Carbon Hill, Ala., the daughter of David and Alice Hill Pruett. She married Frank Scalet who preceded her in death on March 9, 1967. She married Edmund Patchett who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1979. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Christopher. Mrs. Patchett was a member of the Benton chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Sesser and the Christopher Senior Citizens. She is survived by three sons, Richard and Theris Scalet, Mattoon, Terry and Mary Ennis Patchett , Mulkeytown, and Marty and Saundra Patchett , Sesser; 12 grandchildren, Michael and Brenda Beavers, Mattoon, Jackie Sharp, Lerna, Ill., Wayne Scalet, Bethany, Ill., Ron Scalet, Carbondale, Frank and Linda Scalet, Warsaw, Ind., Matt and Julie Patchett , Mulkeytown, Mike and Mary Ann Patchett , Christopher, Beth and Terry Russell, Mulkeytown, Jeff Patchett , Oblong, Lindy Patchett , Valier, Tracy and Kent Dailey, O'Fallon, Mo., and Brad and Abbie Miller; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several very special nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
