    2.   James B. Kelley, age 94, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 8 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon. James was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II and, through his actions and injuries sustained in the line of duty, earned the distinction of being a Purple Heart Awardee, but due to his nature and dedication to God and Country, he would not accept the medal.  Following the war he was a bookkeeping manager for Texaco Oil Company and was a longtime member of Central Christian Church.  James loved to fish and going for coffee at McDonalds.Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Chapel at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois with Mr. Randy Sells and Mr J Howard Kraps presiding.  The Chaplain of Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct a Flag Presentation Service following the funeral.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until Service Time 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Chapel at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.  Interment at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.  For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Central Christian Church or to Donor's Choice and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home where you may call (618) 242-3348 or visit www.hugheyfh.com for further information and to send condolences.James Kelly is survived by 2 grandchildren - Braden Kelley and Brianna Kelley of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter-in-law - Karen Kelley of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sister-in-law & brother-in-law - Jane & Andy Hutchens of Ina, Illinois; sister-in-law - Phyllis Dykes of Mount Vernon, Illinois; special friends - Esther and Dennis Schulz of Ashley, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. James B Kelly was born Wednesday, September 8, 1920 in Sesser, Illinois daughter of Esther and Dennis Schulz of Ashley, Illinois.  He married Norma Lee Dykes on June 6, 1947 at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2011.  His parents, his wife: their son: James B. “Tab” Kelley, James’ two brothers: Kenneth and Dwight Kelley and a granddaughter: Jessica Kelley preceded him in death.
