Jacqueline Jane Harper Hoffmann, 80, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at her residence from lung cancer after a long illness. She was born December 1, 1934 in Little Valley, New York to Herriott Hamlin and Tella Rose (Miley) Harper. Jackie was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters, all preceded her in death. She married Don Hoffmann 31 years ago (1984) in Shreveport, Louisiana. Survivors include her husband, Don Hoffmann of West Frankfort, Illinois; son, Jeff (Deborah) Flagg of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughters, Koni Leavitt of Shreveport, Louisiana, Lori (Robin) Tatham of West Frankfort, Illinois; two step daughters, Donna (Robert) Batten of Phil Campbell, Alabama and Debra (Carnie) Burcham of Keatchi, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was a 4H Leader, she finished her high school education in Shreveport, Louisiana, also graduating from a real estate school and an 18 wheeler truck driving academy even though she only weighed 98 pounds at the time. As a teenager she was an excellent ice skater and skated daily behind her home, she loved to do hobbies such as painting on canvas and glass, Ceramics and sewing and teaching others to do so. She loved animals and horseback riding. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Little Valley and a Sunday school teacher. It was her wish to be cremated there will be no visitation or services.
