In Journal Star of Peoria, Illinois on Feb. 19, 2015 CREVE COEUR - Dorothy Jean Muir, age 88, of Creve Coeur passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. Dorothy was born on Jan. 13, 1927, in Simpson, Ill., to Lewis and Chloe (Lewis) Stapleton. She married Wayne Muir on Feb. 25, 1949, in West Frankfort, Ill. He preceded her in death in September of 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and five sisters. Surviving are her sons, Daniel (Vickey) Muir of Peoria, Ill., and Gregory Muir of Creve Coeur, Ill.; three grandchildren, Matthew (Tonya) Muir of Oskalooska, Iowa, Aaron Muir of Peoria, Ill., and Alexandria Muir of Creve Coeur, Ill.; three great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. Dorothy worked for District 76 and for the Tazewell Children's Center. She was a member of the Church of God. Services will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with the Rev. Paul Isom officiating. Visitation will be held today, Feb. 19, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Memorials may be made to the,American Diabetes Association.
