Karen Sue Peters married Joe Toigo. The Southern Illinoisan, February 23, 1996 BENTON - Karen Sue Toigo , 54, of 1114 E. Ruth St. died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 1996, in St. John Hospital in Springfield. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with the Rev. Steve Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Buckner. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Toigo was a registered nurse for 33 years, and worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion for 18 years. She was born Nov. 13, 1941, in Benton to Charles and Lorraine (Parks) Peters. Survivors include one son, Shannon Toigo of Christopher; one sister, Sharon Dollus of Du Quoin; her parents, of Christopher; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. One brother, Charles Richard Peters, preceded her in death.
