    2.   Juanita McClerren, 95 of West Frankfort passed away at 6:57 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton. She was born July 23, 1919 in West Frankfort to Oscar and Carrie (Wall) Melvin. She married Bennie Frank McClerren on August 27, 1936 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2007. Survivors include two sons, Deon McClerren and companion, Sandra Hays of Benton and Gary McClerren of West Frankfort; grandchildren, Doug McClerren of Benton, David McClerren of West Frankfort, Derek McClerren of Benton, Dana (Joe) Garegnani of Herrin, Todd (Adriana) of Jacksonville, Fl. and Britney (Rick) DePontes of Jacksonville, Fl.; several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bennie, son, Leon McClerren and by two brothers, Gale and Lloyd Melvin. She was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in West Frankfort. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Donnie Shelton officiating.     2.   Oscar Glen Adelsberger was born on March 11, 1939 in Long Beach, CA, the son of Walter Joe Adelsberger and Nannie Lucille (Jones) Adelsberger. Mr. Adelsberger was self-employed as a carpet cleaner for thirty five plus years.  When he was younger he worked with his parents on their fruit farm.  He also formerly worked for Spiller Construction and Darnell Heating and Air Conditioning.He was a faithful deacon of the Thompsonville Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mr. Adelsberger is survived by his children: Buddy Joe Adelsberger and wife Gail of West Frankfort, Dianna Piercy and husband Gary of Benton, Elizabeth Tatjenhorst and husband Steve of Irvington, IL, James Adelsberger and wife Iva Dell Clay of West Frankfort, Vickie Cullen and husband Randy of Princeton, KY, Terry Johns and wife Brenda of Benton; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother Allan Adelsberger and wife Susan of Granite City, IL;  a sister Helen Ehrenspberger and husband Don of Crystal Lake, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Christopher, was a member of Eastern Star, active in Boy and Girl Scouts, and participated in Holiday Rambler Outings. Survivors include three children, Gwen Risch of St. Louis, James Turner of Christopher and Jane Fiorenzi of Herrin; seven grandchildren, Eric Risch and wife, Renee, of St. Helena, Calif., Jurt Risch of Eugene, Ore., Tracy Turner and husband, Vince, of Murphysboro, Elaine Wolfe and husband, Greg, of Newman, Ga., and Joe F. Vernon, the daughter of Lugene Smith and Pauline (Miller) Smith Wilson. She married James Robert Askew on April 23, 2000, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2013. Judy worked as a caregiver at Addus Healthcare in Mt. Vernon and was a member of New Life Harvest Church in Mt. Vernon. She is survived by mother, Pauline Wilson of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Melissa Lorch and husband Rick of Indianapolis and Michelle Crum and husband Frank of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Corey Hall and fiancee Sarah Glass of Mt. Vernon, Tyler Hall of Mt. Vernon, Christopher Johnson of Sesser and Abby Johnson of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Alson Smith of Mt.     2.   Samuel Leach, 88, of Royalton, Illinois passed away at 8:40 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side. Samuel was born May 28, 1926 in Blairsville to Fount and Della (Harper) Leach. He is survived by wife Jennie (nee Koren) of 61 years. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Becky Leach of Royalton, Jack and Rebecca Leach of Royalton; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Martin Healy of Western Springs; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Cody Isaacs of Marion, Samuel Leach of Royalton and Jade and Jasmine Brooks of Royalton; two great grandchildren, Logan and Morgan Isaacs of Marion; a sister, Maxine Hinchcliff of Kirkwood, MO and his beloved dog Max of Royalton.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frank Leach of Waukegan, IL Jack and Fred Leach of Carterville and one sister Lillian Masters of New Carlisle, IN. Mr. Leach loved spending time with family, gardening and walking his dog. Was a member of the St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Royalton. Sam retired from Consolidated Coal Company’s Burning Star #5 Mine in Desoto. He was a decorated Army Veteran of World War II. Sam served in Europe along with his 3 brothers; Frank and Fred in the Navy and Jack in the Army. Sam was a heavy machine gunner and was at the Battle of the Bulge iBastogne, Belgium. He then served with the U.S. Forces that crossed the Rhine River at Remagen, Germany using the damaged but still usable Ludendorff Bridge. This was the first time Allied forces crossed into Germany. He earned a Bronze Star, serving 1944 to 1949. A Funeral Mass for Mr. Leach will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Church in Royalton. Burial with military honors will be at the St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Cemetery east of Royalton. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton. Warren had worked as a fuel distributor for forty years for DX, Texaco and Shell. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. Warren was also a member of the Du Quoin Elks Lodge, Du Quoin Booster Club, Du Quoin American Legion Auxiliary and Little Muddy Gang serving as Chief Cook. He was born July 22, 1924 at Tamaroa, IL, the son of Charles and Mabel (Long) Britton. He married Dorothy Nell Duncan on October 21, 1945 at Mayfield, KY and she preceded him in death on January 6, 1982. He is survived by two sons - Duncan Britton and wife Lynn and Larry Britton and wife Karen, all of Du Quoin, one daughter - Carolyn Rodman and husband John of St. Simons Island, GA, two sisters - Bernice Winthrop of Stevensville, MT and Charlene Frederick of Decatur, IL, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother - Bill and three sisters - Frankie, Lois and Mildred. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Terry Brace officiating. Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin. Friends may make memorials to Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life or Celtic Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Born in West Frankfort Ill. however their family moved to Deming New Mexico when he was 6 years old because of his asthma. There he lived until he joined the Navy at 16 Years old. He served his country for 20 years, retired and went to work as a civil servant doing the same work as he did while enlisted. He spent most of is military time in San Diego. Even though the military caused much travel, he and wife Donna loved getting in their motor home and taking off wherever and whenever they could. They moved to Utah in 2001 to retire and live the good life. He loved all of his children and grandchildren and spending time with them.He is survived in death by his wife Donna Gunter in Toquerville. Daughter Kelley and husband Lee Rowland.     2.   Nada Darlene (Grey) Thompson, 62 passed away on February 16, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma. Nada was born on August 10, 1952 to Malcolm and Eunice (Winget) Grey. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Charles Grey and Del Grey. She is survived by two daughters Angela Perry and her husband David Perry of Nashville, TN, and Rachel Sisney and her husband Joshua Sisney of Mulkeytown. Nada also had four grandchildren Anthony, Makayla, Mallory and Simon. Angie and Rachel would like to say thank you to their extended family, Pam Thompson and Melissa Nettles for being there and taking care of their mother during her time of need. Funeral services will be on Sunday February 22, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher.
