Dale was born August 10, 1937 in Christopher, Illinois to Oscar and Mary (Wilkerson) Gulley. He married Sandra Sue Baggott December 29, 1960 in Christopher, Illinois. She survives in Royalton. Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayla and Tom Jones of Royalton and Dana and Travis Stuart of Marion; three grandchildren; Josiah (Anna) Jones of Collinsville, LeeAnn Jones and Kassandra Jones both of Royalton; three step-granddaughters, Jennifer (Derek) Roby of Indianapolis, IN, Heather (Matthew) Goetsch of Jacksonville, NC, Sophia Stuart of Marion; a sister, Joanne Cockrum of Benton and brother, Richard Gulley of Bush. His parents and a grandson, Christian Jones preceded him in death. Mr. Gulley was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Royalton. He was a Royalton Fire Volunteer and currently serving as the department’s Chaplain. He was a retired coal miner who last worked at the Consol Mine in Sesser and a member of the UMWA Local Union. He served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. Funeral services for Mr. Gulley will be held at 7:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Royalton with Pastor Kirby Ownby, Brother Jim Ebbs and Brother Ron Knox officiating. Visiting hours will be after 5:00 p.m., Friday at the church prior to the services. Grave side services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Miners Cemetery east of Royalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Gulley are suggested to the Royalton First Baptist Church, "Youth Fund" P.O. Box 295, Royalton, IL 62983.     2.   Donald Earl Walden, 77, of Royalton, Illinois passed away February 19, 2015 peacefully in his home. He was born December 12, 1937 in Royalton to Eugene Earl and Eva (Lenzotti) Walden. Donald was an avid traveler in his late teens and throughout his twenties and thirties. He would decide on a destination and get there somehow some way. He loved to travel and experience new places. Sometimes his destination determined his job and other times his job determined his destination. He worked many jobs in many industries, from security to aerospace to oil refinery positions. Donald loved to read books and do research on his computer. He was always looking for ways to live a long healthy lifestyle. As a young man he was a bodybuilder and a dance instructor for the Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Donald had a great memory. He could sit and talk for hours, reminiscing about friends and family and jobs and travel. He had a genuine love of girl’s soft ball. He took great pride in following the softball careers of his great nieces Katelyn and Chloe. He loved and was very proud of being a resident of his hometown, Royalton, Illinois. He served many years on the Library Board, the Lions Club; the Delta Commission; the Royalton Roundup Committee and as a Royalton Village Trustee. There are no words to describe how much he is loved and will be missed. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Clara Waldennieces, Evan Walden Apolinar, Vera Walden Oro, Loraine Walden and nephew, Norman F. Walden; great nieces and nephews, Katlyn, Chloe and Aaron Oro, Drake and Merek Apollinar, Kristin Walden, one great great nephews, Jackson Oro, his cousins and dear friends, Tracy Diuguid and Charles Brandon. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Earl Walden, his mother, Eva Lenzotti Walden, aunt Margaret Lenzotti, brother, Norman Eugne Walden and hi aunt, Erma Lenzotti. Memorial services for Mr. Walden will be at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Royalton First Baptist Church with Pastor Kirby Ownby and Brother Ron Knox officiating.     2. Doris E. Roberts, 78, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, formerly of Royalton passed away at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Doris was born May 14, 1936 in Royalton to Arthur T. and Lena Blanche (Shuping) Roberts. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Mike Bruno and Leta and Pete Bruno all of Pinckneyville; nine nieces and nephews, including a niece and her husband, Mildred and Mary Walker of Pinckneyville. Ms. Robert was of the Protestant faith, a retired waitress and homemaker. Memorial services for Ms. Roberts will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Derby’s Community Hall, 214 W. High St., DuQuion,IL with her nephew, Matthew Bruno officiating. He married the former Rita Kay Osteen on October 16, 1990 and she survives. Mr. Lentz served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was the recipient of the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device -1960 and Expert Badge a Pistol Rifle. Fran retired from Rita’s Mechanical Appraisal, which he was the owner and operator and had also retired from Rend Lake College as the Auto Ag Instructor. Fran was a member of the Rescue Free Will Baptist Church, the Master’s Men, Disabled American Veterans and the Antique Iron. Fran was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his "Fran"erisms...Sweet corn, bacon wrapped shrimp, helium balloons, sidecar rides at Bible School, "you know what I like about you?" little birdie hidden in his hands, object lessons for the kids, one shoe, mowing out by the church sign on the road, volunteering Miss Rita to make 100 pumpkin pies, love of country, respect the flag, love of family, Fran burgers, hope chests, cradles, going to bed early, "better than I deserve", Christmas story about the train and so much more. Great memories that will be cherished by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Allen and sister, Barbara Jean. Mary married Frank Moschino on August 6, 1950 and he survives.   She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Mary was affectionately known to her family as Sister.  Mary was a member of United Methodist Church - West Frankfort, Illinois and United Methodist Womens Mission Work.  She also was the church recording secretary for many years.  Mary loved the beach and to travel. Survivors include husband, Frank Moschino of West Frankfort; daughter, Cindy Walker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother, James "Bud" and wife Gayla Rose of West Frankfort; sister, Jean Raubach of West Frankfort; brothers-in-law:  Jim and wife Cecile Moschino of West Frankfort, Robert "Peppy" and wife Peggy Moschino of Coello; grandchildren, Tyler and Annie Walker; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Moschino; parents; brothers, William and Danzel Rose.     2.   Charles Conrad Holt passed away on February 18, 2015, at the age of 94. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nadine. He is survived by his daughters, Cydney (Walter) Tholl, and Allyn, and by his son, Conrad (Ginger Davies). He is also survived by his grandson, Andrew Tholl and five granddaughters: Avery Danforth, Taylor (Sam) Martin, Carter Tholl, and Elizabeth and Chloe Davies-Holt.Charles was born to Leo and Ida Holt in West Frankfort, Illinois, on February 12, 1921. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War Two. On his return to West Frankfort, he met Nadine, and the two were married on January 1, 1948. Charles attended college on the GI Bill, ultimately earning an Ed.D from the University of Illinois. He had a distinguished career in public school administration, serving as Superintendent of Scottsdale Unified Schools, South Bend, Indiana Public Schools, and Proviso Township (Illinois) High School District. Following his retirement in 1980, he and Nadine settled in Scottsdale.Charles was a man of great warmth and personal charm, who made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many, but those of us who knew him best will miss the singing.A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday, February 23, at Christ Church of the Ascension, 4015 E. Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley. Arrangements were entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.

Funeral services for Dana will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 in Davis Funeral Chapel (Illinois Route 148 and Park Street Road), with Bro. Marvin Boswell officiating.     3. The Benton Evening News, November 30, 2002 Chicago - Helen (Galik) Tonos , 86, formerly of Zeigler, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at the Imperial Nursing Home in Chicago. Graveside services for Mrs. Tonos willl be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, in the Harrison Cemetery in Buckner, with Sister Laura Reynolds officiating. The Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler is in charge of arrangements. Helen was born Dec. 17, 1915, in Zeigler to Steve and Anna (Novotny) Galik. She married John Tonos , and he preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1971. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Soraya Tonos , and Donald Tonos ; two grandsons, Christopher and Peter Tonos , all of Chicago; and a sister, Mary Brown of Johnston City. Her parents, four brothers, Frank, an infant, Joseph, Steve and John Galik and a sister Ann Kiddell also preceded her in death.

Vernon, IL.Norma was born Nov. 11, 1930 in Scheller, the daughter of Archie Hicks and Beulah (Ford) Hicks.She was a homemaker and a member of Christopher Church of Christ. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, in Gilbert Funeral Home, with Father Poole officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Buckner. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Trogolo was retired from Stotler-Herrin Lumber in Christopher and the City of Christopher. He was a former member of the Christopher Fire Department. He was a veteran of the National Guard in West Frankfort. He was born Nov. 25, 1952, in Christopher, the son of Peppino Trogola and Mary (Vargo) Trogolo of Christopher. Survivors include his parents, and brother, Joe Trogolo of Plano, Texas.

Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday February 22, 2015, at the County Line Church east of Johnston City. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery east of Johnston City with Pastor John Howat officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the church. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in Charge of arrangements. Rose was born on June 24, 1936 in West Frankfort the daughter of Jessie and Velma (Arms) Williams. Rose was a kind and wonderful woman who would do anything for anyone. She retired from GTE in Marion and an avid Cubs fan. In her memory she would like for everyone to attend a Cubs game next summer. She is survived by seven children, Deon Rogers of Thompsonville, Don Rogers of Thompsonville, Debra Reed and husband John of Troy, MO, Marilyn Inboden and husband Jeff of Johnston City, Ruth Ann Rogers of Marion, Sue Ellen Derusha of Pittsburg, Vicki Wade and husband Danny of Steeleville; two brothers, Arthur Williams and wife Chris of West Frankfort, and Leonard Williams of Chicago; one sister, Ruth Redford of Chicago; and many many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
