    3. The Murfreesboro Post, Murfreesboro, TN Published: February 23, 2015 Billy Dean Edmonds, age 77 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Friday February 20, 2015. He was native of West Frankfort, IL, and was preceded in death by his father, George E. Edmonds. Mr. Edmonds is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kay Rains Edmonds; mother, Pauline Morgan Edmonds of West Frankfort, IL; son, Eric Edmonds, and his wife Lisa of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Dena Chapman, and her husband Bob of Dahlonega, GA, Kara Alford, and her husband Bill of Coral Springs, FL; sister, Gloria House, and her husband, Ray of West Frankfort, IL; brother-in-law, Richard Rains, and his wife Jackie of Acworth, GA; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ken Polk and Steve House officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Edmonds was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the US Air Force after 23 years of service, having served in Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Mr. Edmonds was also a retired State Farm agent in Washington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, the Disabled American Veterans, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Mr. Edmonds. She was a loving and protective mother with strong character who had a remarkable compassion for those in need and she gained strength through the word of God. Her granddaughter was the joy of her life. She also received joy in helping stray animals and wildlife in her area. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in Christopher and a former member of Christopher Lions Club and Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Vernon, passed away 2:02 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon. William was born Aug. 15, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Lester Earl and Laura Virgene (Richardson) Derry. He married Brenda Carter on April 13, 1974, in Mt. Vernon and she survives in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Derry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Bill worked as a dispatcher at Guaranteed Air Freight until his retirement. Bill was a fan of Cardinal baseball, Rams football and Blues hockey. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda Derry of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Brandon Derry and wife April of Mt. Vernon and Jason Derry and wife Tricia of St. Louis; daughter, Jennifer Haynes and husband James of Falls Church, Va.; stepson, Brett Marlow of Mt.     3. Parker-Reedy Funeral Home Website Mar 30, 2015 (Photo) Bill Walton stepped into the arms of Jesus on March 28, 2015, from Herrin Hospital. He was 85 years of age. He was born on May 3, 1929 to Albert and Mattalou Walton in West Frankfort, Illinois. On March 10, 1950, he married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Taylor. They spend 65 years together, during which time they had four children. He was employed by Orient #2 mines up until the time of its explosion in 1951. At that time he helped to remove his friends and coworkers from the mines that had suffered from the blast. He then bought a hotel in Bluford, Illinois. From there he bought an apartment building in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and also worked as an electrician. The couple later moved back to West Frankfort where Bill joined I.B.E.W. and worked as an electrician for various contractors for several years. Southeastern Power Co-op Power Plant was his final career move, where he worked for over 25 years. After retirement, Bill and Wanda traveled seeing many wonderful sites and enjoying each other's company. He especially enjoyed Hawaii. Even though Bill had a gratifying career as an electrician, he was always striving to learn more. During this time he acquired his First Class Radio License, and Real Estate Brokers License. He was a beloved member of Faith Assembly Fellowship Church, long time Board Member and Men's Sunday School Teacher. He served as Secretary Treasure for many years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Wanda, his four children: Carolyn (Frank) Price, Gail Keele, Warren (Barbara) Walton, Philip (Dellinda) Walton; Eleven grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa) Darnell, Adam Darnell, David Gostowski, Don (Crystal) Bullette, Peter (Amy) Bullette, Dustin Keele, Aaron (Kristin) Walton, Alison Walton, Hope (Sean) Kruer, Joye Walton, Chalan Walton; sister-in-law, Joy (Charlie)Cash and a brother-in-law, Dennis (Marlene) Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.     3. Southern Illinoisan Mar 29, 2015 CHRISTOPHER -- Charles Joseph Antonelli, formerly of Christopher, passed from this life on March 17, 2015, at his home in Armada, Michigan at the age of 67. He was born Dec. 28, 1947, to George and Mary (Czauskis) Antonelli, who owned Antonelli's Grocery in Christopher. Charles was a graduate of Saint Andrew's Catholic School and Christopher Community High School class of 1965. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from McKendree College and a Master's degree from Sangamon State University in Springfield. Well respected for his intelligence, Charles served his country in the Military Police in the U.S. Army. He was an electrophoresis technician at Doctor's Hospital in Carbondale, a mental health specialist, both at Lincoln Developmental Center and Anna State Hospital. He served as a psychological consultant for multiple group homes in Michigan. Charles' beloved wife, Mary Jo (nee Nelson) preceded him in death in 2008. Survivors include a brother, Dr. George Antonelli; two daughters, Mary Catherine Bernard and Alisa Hassan; and twin grandsons, Haitham and Ali Hassan. He also leaves a chosen brother, Dr. Gary Jackson and special friends Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bowen and Mr. and Mrs. James Sharp. Charles donated his extensive Native American artifact collection to McKendree College. His other passionate interests included voracious reading, coin collecting, and a strong interest in law enforcement. Charles contributed generously to animal rescue work in his community. He was always proud to be a member of the American Legion. He was laid to rest in Willow Grove Cemetery in Armada, Michigan.

Wanda June (Morgan) Childers March 4, 1930 - March 28, 2015 (Photos) Wanda June (Morgan) Childers, 85, of Zeigler, Illinois departed this life at 8:39 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2015 at the home of her daughter with her loving family at her side. Wanda was born March 4, 1930 in Amery, Mississippi to Worth and Grace (Humphries) Morgan. On October 13, 1967 she married the Eugene "Gene" M. Childers in Benton. He preceded her in death June 28, 2014. She is survived by a son, Steve (Lisa) Torisky of Harrisburg; two daughters, Patty (John) Bonner of Martindale, TX and Holly (Michael) Brower of Royalton; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Olen Morgan of Sesser; a sister, Donna Morgan of Zeigler and her wonderful friends at the West Frankfort Pool that she dearly loved. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Morgan and four sisters, Geraldine Vancil, Shirley Mitchell, Lois Halterman and Barbara King. Mrs. Childers was of the Catholic faith and attended the St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Church in Royalton. She retired from Smoler Brothers Dress Factory in Herrin. She loved this job and always had such fond memories of the ladies she work with and lifelong friendships she made from that factory. Funeral services for Mrs. Childers will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2015 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler with Sister Laura Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Cemetery west of Zeigler. Visiting hours are from 9 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Moyer, 71, of Benton, died at 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon. She was born Sept. 25, 1943, in Patoka, Indiana, to Leonard and Goldie Augusta (McCrary) Bishop. She married Gerald L. Moyer on June 18, 1966. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2005. Madeline attended Third Baptist Church in West Frankfort. For over 20 years she worked as the cafeteria cook at Benton Middle School. She is survived by her daughter, Anna (Tracy) Henderson of Herrin; grandchildren, Jerry, Joseph and Gabbrianna Henderson also of Herrin; stepson, Gary Moyer of Evansville, Indiana; stepdaughter, Lori Koss of Newburg, Indiana; brothers, Jim (Lois) Bishop and Don Eugen (Donna) Bishop both of Patoka, Indiana; sister, Ellen Y.
