Gene is married to Judy – found out today that Judy’s grandmother, Pearl A SCHELL JOHNSON, was b. 1892 near Fairfield, Wayne Co., IL !! (her parents, Isaac & Martha SCHELL, and her are in the 1900 Wayne Co., IL census) If anyone knows someone researching this family, please feel free to send this on to them ; I am not on Wayne Co., IL list… This article is in a history book on Lincoln County, Colorado: (too good not to share with cousins) *** Pearl SCHELL was born near Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois on July 24, 1892. When she was about 11 years old her family started “west” in a covered wagon. When they got to Saint Louis, MO. they spent several months as her father got a job building roads and doing other “dirt moving” on the “World’s Fair Grounds” which opened in 1904. They then moved on out to Meade County, Kansas where they bought land and started farming. After Pearl “graduated” from Normal School, she taught school in the area for some time. In 1913, Pearl, along with her father, brother Floyd and her fiancée Charlie JOHNSON came to Colorado and filed claims in the southeast corner of Lincoln County. Pearl and Charlie were married in March 1914. They had three children: a boy that was still-born, a daughter, Helen, and a son Glenn. [In Nov 1918], Charlie died with the flu. Logan College as dean for student services, then became vice-president for instructional services and finally named JALC's fourth president in 1982. He retired at an early age to make sure he could finally get to fish all he wanted to, and indeed, one of his favorite activities was having groups of fishing buddies join him for a weekend at his home on Ken-tucky Lake. Harold served on the board of directors for Bank of Carbondale from 1988 to 2012. He provided leadership in many educational and civic organizations, mainly in Southern Illinois, and was well honored for his efforts. Harold was a 47-year member of Carbondale Elks Club. He became very interested in helping promote Southern Illinois Irish Festival after visiting his beloved Ireland on three different occasions. His wish for all his friends and relatives would be, "May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and the road downhill all the way to your door." Memorials may be made to Harold and Marolyn O'Neil Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made to John A. 1. [ILFRANKL] Parents of Robert Millard WILSON
    2. Michael Smith
    3. I have that Robert Millard WILSON married a cousin of mine, Sara Josephine BOWMAN. He is shown in the 1860 census in Cave Twp, FCI, with James and Louisa as parents, and sister Mary A. In the 1870 census, his father is L J WILSON, and siblings Mary A, Martha A, and James W, no mother shown. I see two possible marriages, a Larkin WILSON married Louisa MARTIN 18 Nov 1857 in FCI, and James W WILSON married Louisa Jane ABSHEAR 19 Apr 1957 in FCI. 1870 census family next door is Anderson ABSHEER. Does anyone have a definitive answer to this? Thank you. Mike Smith
