    3. Betty, Thanks for the information re: Brittie WILLIAMS. I didn't know where she was buried. Earl C. WILLIAMS is buried beside his 2nd. wife, Carrie (Taylor)(Roberts) WILLIAMS in Hammond Cemetery. Curtis WILLIAMS was married 3 times. (1) 1903 FCI to Grace LeVAULT (2) 20 Dec. 1913, FCI to Delcinia ISENHART She died 15 Jan. 1921, bur. Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser, IL. (3) after Dec. 1913 to Brasher HARPER. I have not found a record for this marriage. Curtis & Grace had: (1) Corrine Estella WILLIAMS, b. 20 Dec. 1905, Mt. Vernon, JCI - d. 31 Mar. 1931, Peoria, Peoria Co. IL. bur. Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Peoria, Il. m. Charles OGILVIE. (2) Burl Edward WILLIAMS b. 28 May 1908, JCI - d. 20 June 1987, bur. Maple Hill Cem. Sesser, FCI m. 31 Oct. 1928, FCI to Lillian SWOFFORD Curtis & Delcinia had: (1) Jessie WILLIAMS b. abt. 1918 (2) Howard Williams b. abt. 1920 The story about Mike & Sarah COCKRUM has two (2) versions. The 2nd. version, as told by the family, is that Sarah did not shoot & kill Mike. Another female member of the family did the deed but Sarah claimed it because she, or her family, had some connections in Benton & the death would be ruled accidental. Chicago politics at work in So. 3. Betty, Sheldon & I have been discussing whether Riley WILLIAMS m. Amelia HANEY. We haven't found a marriage or death record for Amelia. There is a possibility that Tilantia's given name could be mistaken as Amelia. When I finally found Tilantia down in TN. her name was listed as Milanta. I have found the HANEY surname spelled HANNEE/HANIE/HANES, etc. and it's all the same family. Lucinda "Lulu" WILLIAMS m. 28 Apr. 1893, FCI to James E. MINER. Children: Pearl, b. Apr. 1893? Tilantia b. Mar. 1894 Mary b. Sept. 1898 Robert COCKRUM died in the New Baden Mine explosion. I don't think the James WILLIAMS, b. 1895 that you have listed below is the son of Riley WILLIAMS. My Gr. Grandmother, Mary Ann COCKRUM, married (3rd.) James M. WILLIAMS on 11 Jan. 1895 in Bonnie, JCI. James M. WILLIAMS is not related to Riley WILLIAMS who was the 4th. husband of Mary Ann COCKRUM. James M. WILLIAMS & Mary Ann (Cockrum) had James Peter WILLIAMS, (my Uncle "Jim Pete") b. 24 Mar. 1895/1896 - d. 02 Mar. 1934, JCI, bur. Kirk Cem. JCI. 3. This is the article that I found:   March 11, 2013 (MACEDONIA, Ill.) -- Authorities say a small earthquake shook parts of southern Illinois. Related Content Story: Anza earthquake shakes wide area of SoCal The U.S. Geological Survey says the 2.7-magnitude temblor was shortly before 1 a.m. Monday east and northeast of Benton. The closest town appears to be tiny 50-resident Macedonia in Franklin County. That county's sheriff department says the earthquake doesn't appear to have caused any injuries or significant damage. The quake is believed to have involved an extension of the New Madrid fault, a network of deep cracks in the earth's surface. In 1811 and 1812, the New Madrid fault produced a series of earthquakes estimated at magnitude 7.0 or greater said to be felt as far away as Boston. They were centered in the Missouri town of New Madrid, 140 miles southeast of St. Louis. (Copyright ©2013 by The Associated Press. 3. Bob, I "think" Earl's mother is Tilantia B. HANEY/HANLEY. I was hoping Earl's obit would have his mother's maiden name but no luck there. I haven't found a death record or burial for Tilantia B. (Haney) WILLIAMS & I haven't located Earl on the 1900 U.S. Census. Sheldon & I have been discussing WILLIAM's families for some time. To quote Sheldon "These Williams are making me nuts---nuttier". I replied "that is why I have grey hair & wrinkles."
