    2. Pat, Those family stories can be difficult to verify, There are a few in my family lines where the individual just disappeared, but in one family line an individual was found by his ancestors in census records. Of course he was long dead then. Apparently he had left his family in Franklin County, but was found in another county, with a completely new family. That's a lovely compliment. After 34 years of research I continue to find new connections to our common ancestors, Stephen BROWN & Elizabeth SPOON. My great hope is that some day we can "climb our brick wall" & discover the parents of Stephen & Elizabeth (Spoon) BROWN. Oh, and let's not forget ol' Charlie Mills COCKRUM. Although a family story say's that he went out to the territory & was never heard from again, I still have reservations about that tale. Charlie was in his mid-80's on the 1900 U.S. Census in Barren Twp. FCI. At that age did he really leave a comfortable farm home & head out to the territory? Or, on a dark quiet night, after a "few" sips of moonshine, did he go out coon hunting & fall in the Big Muddy River? Never to be heard from again & we may never know. 3. Pat I'm sorry if this has already been discussed but I am confused. I see this marriage for Charles M. Cockrum (2nd marriage I assume since he was previously married to Naomi Brown d/o of Stephen A. Brown and Elizabeth "Betsy" Spoon) I see the following marriage: COCKRAM, CHARLES M PLASTERS, AMANDA 1861-08-16 003 0304 FRANKLIN which seems to be supported by census records in 1870 and 1880 FCI. There appears to be another Amanda Plasters about the same age that married Singleton M. Varner in FCI: VARNER, SINGLETON M PLASTERS, AMANDA C 1863-04-08 003 0401 FRANKLIN Do you know who the parents are of the Amanda Plasters that married Charles Mills Cockrum? I see an Amanda Plasters in 1860 census living in the home of GIlbert Sweetin and wife Minerva and two kids. No other Amanda Plasters can be found in 1860. No Amanda Plasters can be found in 1850 census but I can find Caroline Plasters living with her mother Catharine Plasters and siblings. 3. Pat, he had been acting odd and crazy for at least  2 days. He is fine and his usual "I'd rather sleep leave me alone" thing now. I have noticed dogs act strange too. After raising Harriers and Beagles more than half of my life, you also learn by watching them.
