    3. ROBERTA BARNETT Roberta was born on February 9, 1920 to the late Thornton and Mary Alice (Seets) Colbert. She married On February 26, 1940 she married Ralph Barnett, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1994. Roberta is survived by her son, Larry Barnett and wife Jenny of Harrisburg; son Lynn Barnett and wife Geri of West Frankfort; five grandchildren, Tracy Bickett and husband Tim of Ridgway; LesleeLeverett and husband Tom of Harrisburg, Sheri Holman of West Frankfort; Teri Duryea of West Frankfort; and Chad Barnett of West Frankfort; twelve great-grandchildren, Alesha, Jerad, Dylan, Evan, Cady, Cara, Braxtyn, Bryli, Logan,Shelbi, Mitchell, Taylar and Gavin; brother Joe Colbert of Mt Vernon; four great-great children; and several nieces and nephews. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, and two brothers, Noel Colbert and Emmitt Colbert. Funeral services will be held at Noon, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. G.E. Coultas will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Equality. Visitation will be from 10 AM to Noon, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

WILLIAIMS was born in Illinois in 1844 Wm S married Mary Ann Daymer 8-12-1844 in FCI He married Mary Jane Wagoner 1-16-1846 in FCI Their children are Silas W., Elizabeth A., Francis Marion, Thomas Pinckney, Nancy (b. 1862 Il) and Dicy P. -------------------------------- David Levi WILLIAMS was born 4-15-1829 in Galatia, Saline County, Illinois and died in Murphysboro, Jackson County, Illinois on 9-16-1891 and he is buried in Tower Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Illinois. It seems that his father was born in North Carolina and his mother in Tennessee. David Levi WILLIAMS served in the Civil War in Co K of the 1st Inf of Illinois. While on furlong, he was crippled permanently, when a tree fell while he was cutting the winters supply of wood. He was living in Elkville Township JCI. That was about 1880. They also lived in Blairsville Township of Williamson County, Illinois David Levi and some were fueding. The ADAMS clan came over and guns were drawn and then another day as David was sitting on his porch, one of the ADAMS clan came over and started over the fence toward David, and David warned him, but Adams kept coming and David shot and killed him. In fear of more killings, David’s family persuaded him to move ro Missouri. It may be at that time, this his oldest son Joseph was married and his wife, Mary Ann HART was from Missouri.Being born in Ironton, Missouri, They settled in Dexter for a while. In those days, there was no law, except for the Night Riders, White Caps and etc. Now David joined the group. The leader was trying to use the power for his own purpose. David came home and told his family, they would have to kill him, they would not let him out of the group, as he knew to much. Now the family persuaded him to move bay to Murphysboro (This account is given by his G Uncle Lloyd WILLIAMS) Living by them in 1860 in Williams (Blairsville Twp) Williamson County, Illinois was a George Akin and was to believed to be a brother to Sarah Next to George AKIN was a John AKIN. In the census, lists David as unable to read or write. David was arrested on 5-21-1886 for the murder of John ADAMS. Information in Jackson Co Il, jail register 1873-1914, page 18, case #669. Trial records are in drawer DIV F, box 33 #3525. He was indicted on August 12, 1886 of Murder and had a hearing for bail on 8-14-1886 and it was also announced in the Carbondale Free Press on 5-29-1886. GALATIA — James Earl Adkisson, 90, of Cornerville in Hamilton County, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, surrounded with his family at his side. He was born July 21, 1922, in Hamilton County to the late James and Helen (Tate) Adkisson. James Earl and Virginia (Flannigan) Adkisson were married on Oct. 9, 1942, in McLeansboro; she preceded him in death in September 2008. He was a farmer and a supervisor of assessments in Hamilton County for 16 years and a member of Liberty Church of Christ. Mr. Adkisson is survived by two sons, Barry K. (Georgia) Adkisson and Bruce M. (Mary) Adkisson; three grandsons, Justin James, Caleb Jeremiah (Holly) and Lucas Nathaniel; and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Adkisson. In addition to his wife, James Earl was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ruth Patterson and Ruby Vinyard. Funeral services were Monday afternoon at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. The Rev. Steve Reeves officiated, with burial in Liberty Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Liberty Cemetery.

    3. Paul R. Jophlin, Sr., 72, of West Frankfort, Illinois, formerly of Indianapolis passed away on March 12, 2013. He was born on April 28, 1936 in Indianapolis to Edward and Anna Jophlin. Paul was a veteran of the US Army and volunteered for the Veteran's Depot in West Frankfort, Illinois. He enjoyed many crafts and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Janet Jophlin; children, Anna McIntosh, Paul Jophlin, Jr., Darlena Ruston, James Jophlin, and David Jophlin; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Corene Chirch and Letha Stevens and brother, Larry Jophlin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Jophlin; sister, Barbara Hardwick; brother, Eddie Jophlin and two great grandchildren, Cheyanne Jophlin and Alexus Smothers. Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 from 12:30 p.m to 2:30 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN.     3. John P. (John John) Morris, 35, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away at 11:23 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1977 in Grants, New Mexico to Dean Harold and Jessie (Duran) Morris. John was an avid poker player, loved fishing, tattoos, and beer. There was nothing more important to him than his family. John was loved by all his friends and family. He will be missed dearly. He worked at American Construction in Marion, Illinois. John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Reymunda Baca; grandfather, Harold Morris; maternal grandparents, Jessie Duran and Phil Duran; and aunt, Donna Russell. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Sharon K. Morris; sons: Michael Paul Holderfield and Robert David Spackeen; daughters: Ashley Griffith, Ally Morris, and Asia Renee Morris; brothers: Daryn Morris, William Morris, and Willie Holderfield; sisters: Desiree Childers, Nikki Manis, and Christine Holderfield; grandchild, Dayton Jayce Bernhard; grandmothers, Anna Lee Morris and Phefi Baca; uncle and aunt: Marty Morris and Dana Kehring; stepfather, Jody Zabala; father-in-laws, Billy Joe Williams and Malcolm Holderfield; and many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. That would have been before her parents' marriage (not impossible) but in the 1850 census dated 18 Oct 1850 she is listed as age 8 and in the 1860 census dated 16 Jul 1860 as age 17.
