    3. NORMAL — Katherine Elizabeth Mott, 73, Normal, passed away at 3:43 p.m. Wednesday (March 27, 2013) at Kindred Hospital, Peoria. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at College Park Christian Church, 116 N. Cottage Ave., Normal. The Rev. Jim Simkins will officiate. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Katherine was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Normal, the daughter of William Everett and Myrtle Jane Nichelson Downey. She married Jackie “Jack” Mott on Sept. 22, 1962, in Colfax. He survives. Also surviving are two children, David Mott, Normal, and Paula Rizner, Bloomington; two grandchildren, Heidi and Shawn Mott, Bloomington; and one brother, Bennie (Teresa) Downey, Gibson City. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James “Jug” Downey. Katherine graduated from Octavia High School, Colfax, in 1958. She graduated from beauty school in Bloomington in 1961. Katherine was a member of College Park Christian Church, Normal. She retired from General Electric in 1992, after more than 28 years of service. She was a member of Local 1000. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known for her talent in cooking and sewing. She will be remembered for her great faith and unconditional love.     3. Yes, Thank you Sheldon, my grandmother Minnie Sanders Gaither married Herman Moore and had two daughters by him. My mother would never go to my grandmother's house if her husband, Dugan was at home he wasn't a pleasant person. I am updating my grandmothers family chart and also sending the information to that side of family, I never tried to get the Moore line since not kin but was helping with a cousin from that marriage so will forward to them. I had been told by my dad's half sister my Aunt Pauline Lasley, some of this about her father, I loved and very close to my aunt and we wrote regularly no matter where we lived all over. It was so good to keep up with my family's news when I lived all over with husband being career Air Force. Mrs. HUNT was employed at Mt. Vernon Garment Factory for several years. She was born April 14, 1911, in Missouri, a daughter of Joe and Maude Mae (MANSELL) STRONG.     3. Patricia Lee Smith, 80, of West Frankfort, Illinois went to be with the Lord Jesus in residence Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 3:42 a.m. with her son by her side. She was born January 4, 1933 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Frank and Ethel (Freeman) Poucher. Patricia married William K. Smith on October 3, 1950. They owned Bill Smith Motors in West Frankfort. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1989. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William K. Smith; two brothers, Odis McClellan, and John Karl Poucher; nephew, Gary Pyles; niece, Saundra Maupin; grandson, David Smith. Survivors include her sons: William E. Gene Smith of West Frankfort, Terry Smith of Pontiac, Michigan; daughter, Kendra Smith of Illinois; sister, Beverly K. Doty of West Frankfort; grandchildren, Angela Smith of West Frankfort, Terry Smith, Jr. of Michigan; great-grandchild, Bella Smith of Michigan; nephews and nieces: Dennis McClellan, Daryl McClellan, Richard McClellan, Jama Kinkade, Tami Pyles, Jay Pyles, Coy Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Jordan Jaycee, and Hannah Pyles; great-niece, Lisah Maupin Rankin. Graveside service at Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Wayne Pyles officiating. There is no visitation.     3. James A. Bolen, 77, of Benton, died at 12:46 p. m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mr. Bolen was born on November 14, 1935 in Akin, IL the son of Vergil Bolen and Gladys (Allen) Bolen. James was a retired coal miner and attended the First Baptist Church in Benton. He was a lifelong, avid hunter who especially valued his annual hunting trips with his brothers. He enjoyed attending country music at the Spring Pond Opry each week, as well as Benton basketball games and meals with friends at the Gray Plaza Restaurant. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Michelle Hargadine (Terry), Temple Terrace, FL, Melanie Bingham (Mark), Seffner, FL; seven grandchildren: Holly Hargadine King (Jeremy), Houston, TX, Lynn Hargadine Gonzales (Jeremy), Nashville, TN, Joseph Bingham (Lauren), Washington, DC, Micah Bingham (Kathryn), Mansfield, PA, Benjamin Bingham (Cara), Athens, AL, Emma Bingham, Seffner, FL, Jesse Bingham, Seffner, FL; four great-grandchildren, Griffin, Gwendolyn, Bella Mae, and Andy; two brothers, Carrol D. Bolen (Patsy), Des Moines, IA, Kenneth R. Bolen (Mary), Thompsonville, IL, one sister, Brenda Rowe (Grant), Atlanta, GA, and several dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Bolen was preceded in death by his parents and one son, James D. Bolen. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Etna Cemetery in Akin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Etna Cemetery fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
