    3. Debbie, I pulled up the picture of Log Cabin in Thompsonville and identified it as the cabin of my 6th great grandfather, Nathaniel Jones which was still in excellent shape when the Historical Society purchased it and moved log by log into the middle of town from out East of Benton near the Jones Cemetery. I was given the key years ago to go through and was amazed at the good shape it was still in and marveled at how with so few tools could a man take down those great big trees, haul them to the place they were building their home and lift up on top of one another. I sent the article while ago but doesn't look like it is going to come through, possibly because it had a picture with it. There is so much history with that Jones family. One of the grandsons built the large, well known Jones Department store in Kansas City. I have a signed book written by John Logan Jones who built that store. If you want more information about him go to Google and put in Jones Department store build by John Logan Jones.
