Lonnie, To answer your initial question: a) the only real extended source for FCI obits we have is Carla Pulliam books of extractions from Benton newspapers (1850-1946) and Daily American (West Frankfort; 1921-1935) -- some of us have all these books and can do limited lookups More specifically to your request: for 1924 Carla states in her book: "microfilm not available from 03 January 1924 through 15 April 1924" Carla's 1943-1946 book starts 02 Apr 1943 for the year 1943 -- not sure why. You can order these microfilms supposedly through interlibrary loan from Springfield -- for a while they would not send them out-of-state, but perhaps this is possible now... -SRJ ...

Pat, Common names can be frustrating to research. My most difficult is my Jones line, I can only work on it a few days at a time. Something always comes up that I cant figure out then I have to give up for a while. -----Original Message----- From: Pat Corona <corona245@comcast.net> To: ilfrankl <ilfrankl@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sat, Mar 30, 2013 4:33 pm Subject: Re: [ILFRANKL] William C. MOORE - Obituary 1831-1908 - CORRECTION Thanks Bob, So far my research indicates that the Goode/Barren MOORE family seems to have removed from TN. to So. IL. They were up in JCI for some time, then down to Barren & Goode Twp. Mary (Day) MOORE, widow of James P. MOORE, moved over to Ewing with some of her children. I think the MOORE family in Johnson Co. may be connected as well. My problem is that I have seven (7) James MOORE's & nine (9) Wlliam MOORE's in my file. I am trying to figure out who this lady might be. It is such a sad story. "27 April 1925. Miss Pearl MOORE, who was born in Benton and put in a DuQuoin orphanage and later transferred to a Chicago home, would like to hear from someone connected with her here at Benton. The report from the orphans home at Chicago states that she had a broter, Larynel, and a sister. Miss MOORE is 22 years of age and states that she has a grandfather in Benton by the name of William MOORE." ****Source: Tidbits. News Articles From The Benton Evening News 1920-1930-Pg. 65. MOORE - Obituary 1831-1908 - CORRECTION Pat These Moores are probably related to the Goode/Barren Twp. Franklin Co. IL Moores. My GGG Grandmother, Leonora Harris, first married William Moore in Hopkins Co. KY. After William died she married my GGG Grandfather William Penn Bradley in Posey Co. IN. They later moved to IL and first settled in Hamilton Co. and then later moved to Franklin Co. When Lenora and William Bradley left for IL all of her living Moore children came too. William and Lenora Bradley had a daughter, Flora, that married Andrew Moore and they named a son, Hugh.
