    3. ELKVILLE - Carl E. Cochran, 58, of Tacoma Wash., formerly of Elkville, passed away at his home June 5, 2013. Carl was born Oct. 20, 1955, in Carthage Texas, to Henry Joe Cochran and Dora Ann (Anderson) Cochran. Carl moved to Tulsa, Okla., in the late 1970's and worked in an art gallery, where he developed his passion for contemporary 2-D multi-media art. Using scraps of matboard, paper, found objects and paint, he began to construct and frame pieces that were soon hanging in the gallery. His artworks began selling quickly and greatly supplemented his work. Carl moved from Tulsa to Houston Texas, and focused on his artwork as a career. He got representation from a top designer, who showcased his work, resulting in a major purchase from the M.D. Anderson's Cancer Center filling the hospital's second floor. His works are in many corporate and private collections, including former Houston Rocket's star, Hakeem Olajuwon. Carl also loved dancing and had a passion for music and playing the piano. Survivors include a brother, Paul Cochran and wife, Frances of Vergennes; a sister, Tany Steckenrider of Christopher; three nieces; one nephew; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. Bangs, 87, of Johnston City, formerly of Marion, went to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Wanda, peacefully at 2:05 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at his home with his daughter, Patricia holding his hand. He was born Thursday, April 1, 1926, in Montello, Wis., the son of James and Bessie (Webb) Bangs. Eldon answered the call of the nation by serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Wanda Mae Followell Friday, May 30, 1958, in Christopher, and together they shared nearly 32 years of marriage until her death Sunday, Jan. 14, 1990. Early in his working career he worked for the Norge Corporation of Herrin. He later began working for Marion Memorial Hospital of Marion, in the custodial and maintenance department for nearly 30 years until his retirement in 1982. He was of the Baptist faith. He also was a member of Addus HealthCare and enjoyed attending their many gatherings and events. In his spare time he enjoyed watching wrestling and was a fan of Chuck Norris and enjoyed watching any movie or show with him in it. He also enjoyed following St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Luther and Robin Bangs and Lawrence Bangs, all of Marion; three daughters, Linda Mays and fiancé, Jimmy Walker of Herrin, Sandra Crain of Herrin, Patricia Bangs of Johnston City; 12 grandchildren, Rindi Reeves and husband, Robby, and Tyson Bangs and wife, Jenny, all of Marion, Kassey McDonald of Tunnel Hill; Wanda Bangs, Beth Mays, Adam Mays, Rachel Crain, Sarah Crain, William Crain and Star Crain, all of Herrin, and Brianna Bangs and Shianna Richardson, both of Johnston City; four great-grandchildren, Mia Bangs, Kamden Walker, Joshua Mays and Journey Bangs; special friends, Gayla Peavey of West Frankfort, and Scott White of Murphysboro; other extended family and many friends. He worked at Barton and Collins in Benton for 40 years. Mr. FINN was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Norris City, a son of James A. and Ana (SHAW) FINN. Feb. 23, 1957, in West Frankfort, he married Donna L. COLEMAN. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Morton and Johnston Funeral Home, Benton, with the Rev. Rod PARCHMAN officiating. Burial will be in Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. FINN is survived by his wife, Donna L. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Stinson was born on August 24, 1957 in DuQuoin, IL the daughter of Clarence Stinson and Virginia (Wyant) Stinson. Shirley worked as a CNA until she became disabled. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and a special friend. She is survived by her son, Jeremy K. Stinson, Benton, IL, eight grandchildren, Maddison and Kaitlyn Worley, Colten Sloan, Isaiah Cosby, Noah, Constance, Kaiah, Brooklyn Stinson, Aunt (adopted sister) Bertrettia Stinson, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Shirley lived with her niece and caretaker, Christina Armes. She really enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends, Wanda and Robert Steingruby. Mrs. Stinson was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jerry and Roy Stinson, Sr., one sister, Shelia Stinson Ferrari, her son’s father, Randy D. Karnes, a niece, Sarah, a great-niece, Samantha, and two great-nephews, Gavin and Adam. Shirley’s family would like to thank all of those who put Shirley and her family and friends in their thoughts and prays. Thank you all very much.
