    3. I would like to know any information you all might have about the Post Oak School located near Logan (Hanaford), FCI. It is my understanding that the Siloam (Silome) Baptist Church held services at the school until the congregation built their own building around 188?. I think the new building was near by. Then the congregation built the church in Logan and it was called Logan Baptist Church. Any clues? Are there any pictures out there? Thanks. Jane

He was a great friend and mentor to me during the 3 years we worked together at the hospital in Marion. Jim taught me a lot about electrical systems, working with people to get things done, and so many other life lessons through the experiences we shared. Since I moved away from Southern Illinois, I've missed his stories of working in the mines and Vietnam that he would share. It was always amazing to me how hard he worked at everything that he started, how he would keep learning more and more about anything. I loved his chainsaw art piece. Jim will be missed. - Robert Rimstad of Minneapolis, MN April 30, 2013 - I will always be grateful to my wonderful cousin Jim for allowing me to run his dna to determine our genetic family and very long bloodline in America. Without him our early Virginia connection would have never been known and a piece of history never told. Kathy, you know how special he was to me and I will always hold his memory close to my heart. - Betty Moake of Girard, Illinois New Memorial Message Submission Form Fields marked with ** are required. 3. Anytime Dale! Happy to hear it helped. Do you know where the Civil War Andersonville Prison (state?) was located? (I should know that, but have forgotten) Also, do you know who Jane BROWNING's parents were? 1. [ILFRANKL] Joseph B. WARREN b. c 1840 Morgan Co IL - Query
    2. jmcghee6
    3. Does anyone have any information about a Joseph (or Joshua?) B. WARREN b. c 1840 Morgan Co, IL? Joseph/Joshua? B. WARREN enlisted 12 Aug 1862 Co. I, 110th Infantry, Franklin Co, IL, and was mustered out 8 June 1865. He enlisted the same date, place and Company as did Elias WARREN, and Jacob WARREN enlisted the same month and year. I am wondering if Joseph/Joshua?, Jacob, Elias and William are brothers? Joseph/Joshua? has not been found in 1850-1860-1870 or 1880 Census of Franklin Co, IL. He had married before his enlistment, poss. to an Eliza J ? ca 1850. There is a probate in FCI of a Joshua WARREN who d. 3 Feb 1867; I sent to D.C. for any army pension records for Joseph in 1996, but none were found. There is a family tradition that 5 WARREN brothers were in the Civil War., 4 in the Union Army, & 1 in the Confederate. I have record of 4 brothers: Jacob WARREN b. 1825 Hardin Co TN, m. Frances C. HAGY 1846 (my ancestors) (Union Army) John F. WARREN b. c 1831 Hardin Co TN, m. Elizabeth WHITLOW 1852 (Union Army) Elias WARREN b. 18 June 1824 m. Nancy Jane BEATY 1851 (Union Army) There was another brother, William A. WARREN b. c 1820 who m. Matilda ?, but as far as I can learn, he did not come from TN to FCI, and I don't know if he was in the Civil War. Thanks much for any little tidbits, I would be very grateful! Jo Ann McGhee

His death was sudden and due to apoplexy. He was a victim of two automobile accidents and it is thought this was primarily the cause of death. Last spring he suffered a severe attack and in the summer another and this was the third stroke of the same nature that killed him. His grandparents were the late Elisha BROWNING and wife, who were among the earliest settlers in Franklin County. When but a lad of 6 years, he took his first job, that of dropping corn. He continued in farm work until he reached the age of 13. With his mother he moved to Murphysboro at the age of 11. He had farmed, worked about railroads and mines. He married three times, losing two wives by death. His first wife was Amanda RIGGS, after her death he married Lillian GIBSON. His present wife was Johanna CLIPPER, whom he married in 1897. 1. [ILFRANKL] Walk Over School? Query
    2. jmcghee6
    3. I have a photocopy of a picture of 2 unidentified boys; they appear to be around 16-18 years of age, and are dressed in what appears to be baseball uniforms. On their shirts are the words WALK OVER. Was there a school in Franklin Co IL called WALKOVER or WALK OVER? This was sent to me in 1997. Jo Ann McGhee
