You'll find more on the SHAW Family in Hamilton County. The SHAWs are shirt tail relatives of mine too, though the Hatchett marriage. I'm not sure the SHAWs lived in Franklin County, maybe some of the family came to Franklin later like the Shaw Summers marriage.....Sheila On 3/10/2014 4:54 PM, Catherine Allison wrote: > I have worked on the Shaw family for years and possibly tied to your line. > My husband's family record line came down from the Old Allison's family > bible. I have worked on the Shaw family for years and possibly tied to your line. My husband's family record line came down from the Old Allison's family bible. The oldest was Patrick Shaw, father of John Shaw born 1756 Killyleagh, Ulster, North Ireland, who married Hannah Paine Paisley 13 June 1812 in Guilford Co NC. Most of these families came to TN and then up to Illinois, Missouri & Arkansas. Hannah's father John Paisley b 1764 PA. died 1845 Hillsboro, Illinois. I don't know where this is but at least it lets us know the group was in Illinois. Some of the names of this group are Ashley, Paisley, Paine, Rankin & Mclean & Finley. I hope this might help. Susan, Yes I had to cut back a bit. I just don't enjoy working with websites like I used to, so that seemed a logicial choice to give up. I do love the Facebook group for Franklin (it seems to be growing quickly) but I plan to see if I can find someone to administer the Saline group. There's very little work involved and I am accountable only to myself. Debbie V. On Mon, Mar 10, 2014 at 1:49 PM, SDorris <[email protected]> wrote: > Why thank you Debbie. I know what you mean Debbie. You end up donating all your time and have no time for yourself. I've had to quit a couple of things for that reason and they just can't understand why you quit. I guess you remember how we used to have to order census at the library and wait forever to get it and still had to look at it at the library. We've come a long way with the aid of computers haven't we.
