    3. Work will begin this coming week on the Browning Hill Cemetery. We will also be marking more of the unmarked graves. Also hope to fix.the fence on the north and west sides of the cemetery. It  is looking a lot better than when we started that is for sure.     2. WEST FRANKFORT -- Joyce (Halstead) Ezell, 74, of Reno, Nev., passed away peacefully at their home leaving behind her husband, Ron Ezell, and daughter, Kelly Reed. Joyce was born Feb. 18, 1939, in West Frankfort, to Paul Wynn and Thelma (Gorski) Wynn. They both preceded her in death. Joyce graduated from West Frankfort Community High School with the class of 1955. She went on to study at SIU Carbondale. Joyce married Dr. Ron Halstead from Elkville, and helped him with the opening of the Halstead Chiropractic Clinic in West Frankfort in the 1960's. Joyce enjoyed working in the doctor's office and often spoke about working at Dr. Rosetor's pathology at Carbondale Clinic. She was a passionate and gifted health care worker. In 1988, Joyce moved to Reno, Nev., and married Ron Ezell of West Frankfort. She lived there until her passing. Ron and Joyce enjoyed Reno. They enjoyed eating in their favorite restaurants and going to the casinos. Joyce caught on quickly how to play and was quite lucky. She is greatly missed by the friends she made while living in Reno. They made their yearly visits to be back with their family and friends in Herrin. Survivors include her husband, Ron Ezell of Reno; daughter, Kelly (Halstead) (Curt) and son, Austin Reed, of Murphysboro; stepchildren, Rona (John) Powers of Battleground, Wash., and Michael (Valerie) Ezell of Reno, Nev.; sister-in-law and life-long friend, Jan Ezell of Marion, and her daughter, Maureen (Gary) Williamson of Warrenton, Va.; brother-in-law, Charles (Judy) Ezell of Berwyn; sister, Sharon (Jim) Ielase of Canton, Ga.; nephew, Tony (Tina) Ielase of Decatur; great-nephew, Tim (Katie) Ielase and their daughter, Hailey, of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-niece, Taylor (Gavin) Sincavage and their daughter, Sawyer, of Taylorville; great-niece, Kaylin Ielase of Decatur; niece, Christy (Brad) Johnson and their daughters, Katie Rose and Anna, of Suwanee, Ga.; niece, Susan (Matt) Vaughn and their children, Jesse and Nicole, of Grafton, Mass. Edith was born on Friday, October 12, 1923 in Hamilton County, Illinois the daughter of the late Walter Henry and Etta Ethel (Smith) Wallace. She married Edgar Atchisson, Jr. on July 18, 1953 and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2007. Surviving family members include her niece: JoAnn Lunk and husband Bob of Waterloo,…Illinois; 3 nephews: James Klutts and wife Connie of Sharon, Tennessee, Ed Wallace and wife Betty of Mulberry Grove, Illinois and Larry Wallace and wife Ruby of Sorento, Illinois; several great nieces and great nephews also survive. Her parents, husband, two brothers: Robert Lee Wallace and Walter Orvil Wallace, two sisters: Elberta Klutts and Marie Denbo preceded her in death. Edith worked at Kroger and A&P Grocery in Detroit, Michigan for 21 years and later at Williamson Picture Frame Company for 12 years until her retirement. Elbert “Bert” Teffertiller, 92, of McLeansboro, passed away 5:16 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.He was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Buckner, the son of Ambrose T. Teffertiller and Anne (Pharis) Teffertiller. He married Alice Marie Payne on March 12, 1946 in Ewing and she preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 2002.A native of Christopher, he graduated from Christopher High School in 1940 and attended Southern Illinois State Teacher’s College. He then entered the service in 1942, spending three and a half years in the U.S. Army, two years of which were in the European Theatre during WWII. Bert was a self-employed businessman, owning several businesses throughout his career. In 1947, he came to McLeansboro and starting with a clothing store gradually added furniture, appliances and flooring.In 1969, he bought the Chevrolet/Buick/General Motors Dealership, which the family still owns and operates. He was passionate about community growth and development, including the development of the Meadow Hills subdivision. He was an enthusiastic Cardinals baseball fan, loved to travel and enjoyed being with his family.     3. Dale, I have a question as to John Sandusky's wife........I think she was Elizabeth Hutson, daughter of Chamberlain Hutson.....in 1880 census she is living with a Hutson. I also found a mention of a Chamberlain Sandusky....which would indicate that Elizabeth named a son for her father....but I don't find Chamberlain Sandusky in a census record. So you can add him to this list as a side note. Known children are listed below, notice there are holes in the birth years, so may be other children: Amelia Sandusky born 1817-1823 married George Eubanks Margaret Sandusky born 1820 married Russell McNeal Andrew J Sandusky born 1822 married Eleanor Rollins John Sandusky born 1829 married Nancy McNeal William Sandusky born 1834 no marriage for him. He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Tuggle); two daughters, Cheryl (Tony) Blowers and Christina (Ryan) Johnson; a step-daughter, Audrey (Devin) Cruz; three step-sons, Michael Middono Jr., Joseph Middono, and Frank Middono; father, Charles (Barb) Price; three brothers, Jim Price, Jerry (Rhonda) Price, Steve (Jamie) Price.
