He loved to hunt mainly squirrels, quail and rabbits, but his true passion was fishing for bluegill at Reelfoot Lake, TN and many other places, but his favorite spot was Tall Tree Lake.John was always active in his children, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's lives. He attended many of their sporting events and would always proudly cheer them on. His love for children included all of the neighborhood kids. After his retirement he and his wife Ann volunteered at the Marion VA Hospital for 15 years resulting in the Shawnee Detachment of The Marine Corps League awarding him the title "Marine of the Year". John would attend the yearly ball with Ann, John Jr and grandson Jeremy all who served in The Marine Corps. John shared 64 years of a loving marriage to his wife Ann. 1. [ILFRANKL] Joseph A. Dollins 1845-1933
    2. Anabeth Dollins via
    3. I'm looking for a photo of Joseph A. Dollins, who lived in Benton his whole life. He was county treasurer from 1884 to 1890 and again from 1898 to 1902. Might there be a book of county officers that might contain his photo? Joseph was the youngest son of State Representative Achilles Douglas Dollins (who served with A. Lincoln) and Priscilla Estes. Priscilla married Rowland Daniel in 1848. In censuses, Joseph was variously listed as a farmer, teacher, dry goods merchant, and tax collector. At least three of his brothers (James J., Achilles D., and David C., served in the Civil War). He had five children with wife Sidney Finney. Is there a person or organization in Benton or Franklin County who collects old photos? Thanks -- Anabeth Dollins
