Have you checked with the Iroquois Co. Genealogy Library? Ducat sounds familiar, but then alot of my family lived in Ashkum (BURNS, MEAR) My great grandmother BURNS was born a CHARRON from Quebec and some on the MEAR side came from Quebec also. I read the email following yours RE: St. Anne, and I will also chime in that you may want to join that St. Anne group. I'm not a member, but someone who is a member and is researching my MEAR family found me and had also mentioned the group. You never know what or WHOM you wil find! My ancestors emigrated from Belgium in the mid 1800's and settled in Illinois around the towns of L'Erable, Ashkum, and Clifton. I have info that takes the family back to the mid-1600's in Belgium, but do not have as much info on them after they settled in Illinois. If anyone has any suggestions or additional info on the family, please respond. Sincerely Michele Barry barry@dakotacom.net >>
