Hi fellow researchers in Kankakee Valley I just spent a very nice weekend in Grant Park and Kankakee. I visited the libraries in Grant Park, Bourbonais amd Kankakee. I visited the graves of my gg grandfather, gg grandmother and gg uncle and his wifes at Heusing Cementry I also visted the graves of my gg aunt and gg uncle at the Zion Lutheran Cemetry. But what I was surprised at was the lack of info about the Sumner Township area. I thought I would be able to find newspapers accounts of the area. The Grant Park Libary had nothing. Kankakee Libaary has the Kankakee City paper back to 1850's but it has very little reporting of Sumner Township. Here is where I seek your help is there a place that has info about Sumner Township and Grant Park from the time period 1867 to 1945 Thanks for your Help Dick Zimmerman Owosso, MI zimerman@shianet.org
