Hello I am new to this. My grandfather was adopted by a prominent Milford, Il. couple in the early 1900's. His adopted name was James Lindsley Paul and they have listed his birth to be 1909 in Chicago. His adoptive parents are Sylvanius Lindsley and Sara Ella (aka Ella May) Mayfield Paul. His birth name was Bennie Linscott...and he was adopted out of Chicago, Il. but was not born there according to the adoption papers. He was put in the Illinois children's home and aid society because his birth parents were not capable of taking care of him. I am looking for anyone that may know of the real story. The only information that I got from the Society was that he had older siblings that were not put up for adoption but were put in foster care. A sister that was three years his senior and a brother one year his senior. I think that at the time of his adoption he was about 3 and 1/2 yrs old and that occurred in 1912. Please feel free to e-mail me with any and all information. cpgoofy16@uswest.net, cpgoofy16@yahoo.com, cpgoofy16@hotmail.com any of these will work. Thank You c paul
