They were supposedly married in 1861 in L'Erable and had 4 children that I know of: Joseph, 1863; Dora, 1868; John M. 1872 and Mary Josephine, 1874. The three oldest were born in L'Erable. Joan JoanBohlin@aol.com >> Joan, The Parish in L'Erable was St. Johns. It's also possible that BENWAY is actually Benoit as I have a record before me that states: 7 Oct 1867, baptism at Clifton of Doree Benoit by Father Pernin, 20 Sep 1867 born to Moyse Benoit and Henriette Dion. Godparents: Pierre(peter) Dion and Flavie Benoit. When researching Iroquois and Kankakee Counties, you must expect to check the "mother" church of the area, which is Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bourbonnais, Illinois. This mission was started as early as 1838 by visiting clergy and was permanently established in 1842 as St. Leo's, then to Maternity in 1847. There were numerous Benoits in Bourbonnais as early as the 1840s. Happy Hunting.... Dave King Dave King
