I'll let Cheryl answer some of your questions. I used to work there years ago, but forget what all they have now. Be sure to check out the current Iroq Co courthouse and annex. They have actual books of records and you can get photocopies (tho you will pay more). Probate is in the courthouse and birth, death, marriage and land records are in the annex. They are nice people there. If the ancestors made use of a Watseka funeral home, you might want to check there. Segur-Knapp is sitll in business. It's possible they have old records. It used to be Segur, then Knapps became a part of it. I always knew it as Segur-Knapp. If the ancestors are in the old plat/atlas books for Iroq Co, you may be able to locate the farm and drive by it or where it used to be. If they lived right in one of the towns in the county, you may be able to drive by there too. The genealogy library also has history books (centennial books) for some of the towns. Be sure to check those out too. You may find some info or some photos of your ancestors and you can get a feel for what life was like in their day. Read the old newspapers on microfilm at the genealogy library. Visit the cemeteries and take pics of the graves. We just had a family reunion and did all this stuff. Debbie
