Are there any histories of Ashkum/Ashkum Twp? I know there is one for Chebanse Twp and found places to buy it and someone who has it. I think that Ashkum twp was formed out of Chebanse? In the census, I found family who lived in Chebanse Twp in 1860, and in 1870 they are in Ashkum and I dont think they all moved. I think i read that Ashkum was formed or incorporated in 1861. I know there is a small paperback book of the history of Iroq Co and this book mentions something about that or at least the way I understand it, Chebanse was formed or incorporated before Ashkum.
