    1. [ILFORD-L] Johnson, Anderson (Andreson, Andersson)
    2. I am looking for information about my Great Grandmother Sarah Anderson (I've seen it spelled Andreson and Andersson also.) Our family records show that she is buried in Glen Cemetery in the John and Augusta Johnson lot. A family member visited Paxton about three years ago and visited the cemetery but there was no headstone for her in the John and Augusta Johnson lot. There is no record of her burial in the cemetery records and no obituary in the newspaper that my family member could find. Sarah immigrated from Sweden probably in the early 1800s. Her date of death is unknown. Sarah had three daughters; Josephina Albertina who was married to Gustav Daniel Soderberg and lived in Chicago, Eva who was married to Carl Peterson and lived in Chicago and Augusta Charlotta who was married to John Ferdinand Johnson. John was born in 1846 and died in 1928. Augusta was born 25 January 1853 and died 19 July 1915. They are buried in Glen Cemetery. Augusta and John had five children; Anna, Henry, Olive (Lee), Theodore, and Esther. Information about any of these individuals would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Re: [ILFORD-L] Local Newspaper 1874?
    2. Loretta Krumwiede Barlow
    3. Hi Ronette, I would suggest The Paxton Record. They are in their 134th year of publication, and probably old editions are available on microfilm. Ford County does not have a genealogical society, but does have a historical society. One of the people receiving a copy of this is a member of the historical society and can advise you on accessibility and availability of old editions. Another person receiving a copy of this is the president of the Iroquois County Genealogical Society. There is a substantial microfilm collection at the society, and a search and copy can be done for a very reasonable fee if those issues are available on film. Good luck. 1. Re: [ILFORD-L] Wheeler
    2. I may be the one that Mr Mayhew was talking about. I had previously sent him the marriage date, county, and license number. In addition, I suggested two excellant sources to obtain more information on the marriage. They were his local Family History Center (Morman Church) and IRAD (telling him there was a link in the K3 GenWeb). Since he said "I wonder how I could go about getting the details of the marriage..." again, I suspect that he does not want to do anything himself but rather have others do everything for him. I apologize to those who do not like my point of view. Richard Graveline

    1. [ILFORD-L] Marriage records
    2. Hi, I'm new to this list, and have a question about marriage records. I'm looking for information on my great great grandparents, Josiah and Antha Hanks Morse I know that Josiah was listed in the 1870 Cook County census. He married Antha in 1874, but I don't know where. Their first child was born in 1876 in Paxton, IL, so I would like to search for a marriage license in both Ford and Cook Counties. Any help would be much appreciated. Ronette from South Dakota researching Josiah MORSE, Genia MORSE, Antha HANKS, Warren HANKS, Seymour HANKS, and anyone else that might just fit in this tree! Thanks, Ronette
