I'm grasping at straws again in my search for the Cameron family. Joseph CAMERON, (b.Aug.1810, PA) married Sallie HINDS/HINES, (b. 1811, PA.) in about 1830 in Pennsylvania. Their first child William, was born in PA about 1831. There is a Catherine HINES, age 18, b.PA, living with Joseph Cameron and his family in 1850 in Illinois. Also in Fayette County, 1850 is the family of George HINDS, (b.1813,PA) and his wife Catherine, (b. 1816/17 PA) which would make her a good candidate to be the sister of Joseph and Daniel Cameron (b.1812,PA), except that her name is given as SCHWARM/SCWAN in the marriage records of their children, and there is a marriage record in Stark Co.,Ohio for a George HINE and Catherine SWAN on 21 Nov. 1835. So my straw is the possibility that Catherine SCHWAN could be her name from a first marriage. Is there any way to tell this from the Ohio records? Does anyone have access to PA marriage records who would be willing to look for HINE/HIND marriages and/or SWAN/SCHWAM/SCHWARM? George HINES and family remained in Fayette County, and had children: Caroline, John, George, Henry, Mary Ann, Jacob, Barney, Catherine, Nancy and Eli. Any suggestions, corrections, or help will be appreciated. Judy Cameron Lanclos Highland, CA My apologies if you receive multiple copies of this- I don't know if the two groups overlap.
