In the marriage records: Nathaniel Nowlin and Rebecca Sidwell, both by consent license dated 4 Mar 1833, no marriage date given, consent by her father Wm. Sidwell (Book old A, p.7, l.7) Nathaniel Nowlin and Sarah Reavis, he of age, she by affirmation married 23 Jan 1846. Preston Reavis, Sarah's brother said that their step-father, John Nowlin gave consent (Book Old A, p. 27, l.9) Nathaniel Nowlin and Elizabeth Freels, both by consent married 28 May, 1846. Wm Freels, father of ELizabeth gave consent (Book Old A, p. 28, l.12) {This Nathaniel,aged 24, is in the 1850 Fayette census with wife Elizabeth, aged 23, and children Nancy N. 2 and William 1.} The name is also spelled KNOWLAN and NOWLAN and NOOLAN on page 845 of the 1850 census is: 385 NOWLAN (NOWLIN) Mary 47 Tenn REVIS, Preston 22 Mo, Covington 18 MO NOOLAN (NOWLIN) Preston 2 Ill Many of the Reavis records are in Bond County.
