On my ggggfather's, Jonathan DOWNS, Illinois Veterans Affairs Card, C.L. JENNINGS, s/o A.L. , Grayville, Illinois, is listed as his nearest relative. Does anyone have any information on C.L. Jennings? He is not enumerated in the 1850 White County, Ill, federal census. Thanks for helping me out with this one. I have searched for parents for my Jonathan DOWNS for 30+ years now!
