My ancestor William Baldwin was born in cir 1806 in Tennessee. He moved to Fayette Co., IL, Hurricane Township before 1840?. He was definately there in 1850 in Hurricane. In 1860 he dissappeared from Fayette CO. By 1865 he was back. In 1859 his oldest son Willis Baldwin married Mary Catherine Davidson and moved to Kansas City, MO area and by 1870 he was in Montgomery Co. KS. It seems that our families followed the same migration pattern at the same times.
