This is not a surname of mine, but in case this helps, there was a CRUSE spelling in Marion Co, IL. There were CRUSE in Washington Co, Maryland early also. I believe the Marion Co, IL ones were some descendants of the Washington Co, Maryland ones. I believe the Washington Co, Maryland ones, were somehow related to some of my HIMES ancestors. I can't put my finger on how right now, but maybe in my file cabinets, cards or notebooks. I have so many of them anymore. I only have 30,000 of my names on my computer so far, just not enough hours in the day, when you are a grandma. I hope this helps somehow.
