So his parents, August and Elizabeth were living there at the time, although I am not sure of the town in Fayette. Thank you so much for trying. Have a great weekend coming up. Linda

I have tried to trace John Joachim and Mary Maas, but can't find them anywhere. I haven't been to your website lately, so I'll go back and check. Luv you Cuz, talk to you soon. Theresa

I just realized after not recieving a copy of my message back that I posted this AM that I had not received any mail from the list since January 13! How could I have become unsubscribed? How could I have not noticed I wasn't getting any of my Fayette County mail!!!!!! I am now resubscribed and if anyone replied to my John Donaldson message this AM please repost it since I didn't get it. Also is there any way to view all the posts between January 13th and today? Is there an archived list somewhere? Thanks a bunch. I guess I need to recheck some of my other lists that have been strangely quiet lately :-) Lynne
Theresa: I probably missed someone else making this suggestion, but with the family names you mention, the multivolume Germans to America is the first place I'd look. I don't think that's on the web. I'm near a good genealogical library in St Charles, MO, and would be glad to check for Kruses on the ship Virginia. Do you have a date for their emigration? Theresa, I'd suggest you contact the Fayette Co. Genealogical Society. They have transcribed and indexed the censuses from 1860, 1870 and 1880 (at least -- those are the ones I know about) and the books are in the library in Vandalia. Or perhaps the library would do a look-up for you. The address for FCGS is Box 177, Vandalia, IL 62471 Good luck! Mona On Sat, 12 Feb 2000 12:28:28 EST JanieBAC@aol.com writes: > Thank you Melinda.
