    2. Teresa Davis
    3. I've found quite a few people sending messages to this list using the 'request' address, which is only for subbing or unsubbing. The correct address (to send regular messages) is ILFAYETTE-L@rootsweb.com (or replace the L with a D, if you are using the D mode) The only time to use the ILFAYETTE-L-Request@rootsweb.com, (or replace the L with a D, if you are using the D mode) is if you are wanting to unsubscribe, or subscribe. 3. I finally got my gravestone pictures from Spring Hill Cemetery up on our homepage. I think there are about 22 of them- mostly Hoppers and Drees. Go to http://www.advancenet.net/~conure/geneindex.htm and scroll down about one third of the page. You should run into the gravestone section. Spring Hill has its own index. Hope this helps. I'm open to any info on some of the Hoppers. I know they have to be connected to mine, but I don't know how yet. Thanks sherry smith-stanford conure@advancenet.net

    1. [ILFAYETT-L] Announcing a list for Nahausen, Brandenburg
    2. Hi, We want to invite any of you who are interested to join our new email list. The name is DEU-Nahausen, and it's for sharing information and resources about ancestors who lived in or near Nahausen, Brandenburg, and their descendants anywhere. Surnames will include, but not be restricted to, FELLWOCK, SASSE, and OERTWIG. Other surnames from Nahausen are welcome also. Nahausen was in Brandenburg, in Kreis Koenigsberg-Neumark. Today it is Nawodna, just a few kilometers north of Chojna, Poland. A number of people from Nahausen settled in Dodge County, WI, and in Fayette Co. IL, and of course, their descendants branched out from there. Briefly, people can subscribe to the list in mail mode by sending a message to DEU-NAHAUSEN-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains the word subscribe and nothing else. If you prefer digest mode, you should send the command to DEU-NAHAUSEN-D-request@rootsweb.com. After you have subscribed, you will receive a welcome message. I'd suggest you file that in a folder in your email program so you can refer to it when/if you need to unsubscribe for a few days, or if you have other questions. The utilities are set so that if you want to reply to a message, it will automatically go to the whole list unless you change your message to "reply to sender only". That way we'll all benefit from the messages as well as the replies. BUT --- realize that your reply is "public" unless you take an extra step to send it privately to a specific person. In a few days, we should have a number of members, so the first day or so, we'll probably not want to send too many messages, unless we are willing to repeat them again. :-) If you have any questions about the list, please contact me. 2. tim
    3. Thank you for your time and kindness. My maternal grandmother Janie Mae (STOGSDILL) MARSH was related to Maurine WARNICK. Do you or anyone else on-line have any LEATHERS, MCCOMMACK or TATE information? I believe Maurine's grandmother was Olive Ann "Ollie" (LEATHERS) TATE. Olive Ann married Jesse TATE. Olive's parents were George LEATHERS and Martha Ellen MCCOMMACK, MCCORMICK, MCCORMIC or MCCORMACK. Related surname families lived in Macon, Wayne, Clay, Fayette, Shelby, Bond and Montgomery Co, IL at various times. Thank you all for your time. My own direct ancestry line is in the HIMES line link of our homepage. Click on address below and scroll down to HIMES, click on HIMES and scroll down the HIMES page to Beverly Jane HIMES and scroll down the earlier generations. 3. Does anyone know the correct spelling or the history of the spelling for the name of Loudon Township. In the old Fayette Facts it is spelled both Loudon and Louden. I know this isn't very important, but I was just curious if or when it changed. I think I need to get a real life, don't you? Thanks for any ideas. sherry
