    2. Hi Bob, I was born in Buffalo Co, NE, so all of my ancestral lines finally ended up there. But a couple lines were in Fayette Co., IL from about 1864 - 1885 or so before they moved west. I can leave your surname entry on the Buffalo Co site, so that if someone else comes along looking for your lines there, they can contact you. But if you have an up-dated query, do send it! SLC -- I guess that's Salt Lake City, not Saint Louis County. :-) I'm in the next county south of St. Louis, so that was my first interpretation of the letters. ..LOL Good luck! 3. Mona What are you doing in Fayette County? I do not know if I told you or not, but I live in SLC so I have access to a lot of material. I am very much impressed with what the Society publishes. Unfortunately I am looking for some obituaries so I need someone from there. I found a family with 5 deaths on the same date in 1942. I suspect a car accident but I would like to know. It is a touchy subject so I would prefer not to address it over the site. While I am sending this to you, I would like to just let you know that it is OK to delete my 2 Buffalo county queries. 3. Jerry Just a follow-up on your question about Nancy. In 1846 a Nancy Harris married Henry Miller in Fayette county, Illinois. I believe that this is the same lady who married Jotham Watson in 1851. One of these days I might have time to look a cemetery records to see if I can find a Henry Miller who died prior to 1851 in order to prove this, or disprove it. This is my thinking on this and I have no proof yet. Thanks again for your response. Please keep in touch. 2. Hi, There's a new website pertaining to descendants from Nahausen, a village in Kreis Koenigsberg, Neumark, Brandenburg, about 5 miles north of Koenigsberg. A number of famlies left Nahausen in the 1840's and settled in Dodge Co, WI. Others came later and joined the relatives who had moved from WI to Fayette Co. IL. The main surnames include SASSE, FELLWOCK, and OERTWIG. Most of them lived in Wilberton and Kaskasia Townships, on the southern edge of Fayette Co. If you have a website that pertains to any near-by village, we'll like to add a link to your site. Today is it's first day up, and we hope to grow. Come check us out! 3. Ray, I am the great-granddaughter of Osceola Hamilton nee Mahon. She was a sister to Rollin Wilson Mahon. I might have a few odds and ends for you. First of all, I have a picture of Rollin's grave up on my homepage. Looks like I have a couple of other Hoovers there, also. Go to http://www.advancenet.net/~conure/geneindex.htm Scroll down. There is a spot called GRAVESTONE INDEX If you click there it will take you to a (somewhat) alphabetical listing of individuals. After the name of the person it will tell you where they are. Go back to the main page, find the cemetery, and click. You will be taken to Photopoint where the pictures are. Sorry it's a bit confusing. I couldn't get to Photopoint at 06:26 a.m. this morning (Friday). They must be down for maintenance. Old Loogootee Cemetery is one that you might really want to check out the most. Rollin was a school teacher, the postmaster and also ran a store with Vernie R. Hamilton in St. James, IL. Busy guy, huh? I would be interested to know if you have any other info on Mary Almeda? I have that she remarried an Ed Smith, but no reference for this or any thing else. Where did she die, where is she buried, etc. I would appreciate any help. I've lost poor Mary! If I can be of any other help, just e-mail. sherry smith-stanford conure@advancenet.net
