I didn't catch you name. Just a suggestion on your BLANKENSHIP and other surnames search. Could you tell us your direct line or a pedigree from your parent or grandparent going back to earlier ancestors with names, surnames, aprox.dates and localities? That will aid more in someone's checking for you. I do NOT have a direct line of BLANKENSHIP, but they were related cousins to my ELMORE, ELAM and WALKER families. There were BLANKENSHIP that married into surnames of relatives of my ancestors. My own DIRECT line of ancestry or pedigree gong back from me Beverly Jane (HIMES) to earlier ancestors, by generation groups, with Christian names, surnames, dates and localities is in the HIMES line link of our homepage, if anyone cares to read it. http://members.truepath.com/beverly/index.html Beverly Jane (HIMES) BARGER ----- Original Message ----- From: <RuABlankenship@aol.com> To: <ILFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 16, 2000 10:39 PM Subject: [ILFAYETT-L] Blankenship > Hello Everyone, > > This is my first post to the list, and it isnt a very good one. Hello Everyone, This is my first post to the list, and it isnt a very good one. The reason being is that I am looking for my Calvin BLANKENSHIP without much to go on. I am sending this to the Illinois lists because I am thinking that since his wife was born in IL and her parents in TN, that maybe the Blankenship's moved from TN to IL, then to MO. Unfortunately I do not have last names for the women born in IL, but I figure that if I start shooting in the dark long enough, I will hit something. I estimate the Blankenship's migrating to IL after 1825. I found Calvin BLANKENSHIP married to DELIAH on the 1850 Texas County, MO census. Living next door to Calvin is WILLIAM BLANKENSHIP and his wife, PAMELA JANE. Since Calvin was only a couple of years older than William, I have to assume they are related, if not brothers, because they were the only Blankenships in TExas County at this time and they were both born in TN and both of their wives in IL (just thought that was interesting). SInce Calvin Died during the civil war (there is no record on him except a muster roll, since he was a confederate), he wasnt around when the government started asking where their parents were born. I followed Deiliah until 1880. I estimate her time of death between 1881-1883. I followed William, and he lists his parents as also being born in TN ..... although its a shot in the dark, is there anyone out there that has a link to a BLANKENSHIP's that had a son named Calvin, (who was born abt 1820-25) and/or William (b. abt.1823-1826). I do not have Calvin's parents names or their wives maiden names. I am hoping to connect them to someone who might be able to shed some light on this for me .... Thank you in advance!!!!

This is not a surname of mine, but in case this helps, there was a CRUSE spelling in Marion Co, IL. There were CRUSE in Washington Co, Maryland early also. I believe the Marion Co, IL ones were some descendants of the Washington Co, Maryland ones. I believe the Washington Co, Maryland ones, were somehow related to some of my HIMES ancestors. I can't put my finger on how right now, but maybe in my file cabinets, cards or notebooks. I have so many of them anymore. I only have 30,000 of my names on my computer so far, just not enough hours in the day, when you are a grandma. I hope this helps somehow. I was born and raised in Illinois, but now am over 1200 miles from home. http://members.truepath.com/beverly/index.html Beverly Jane (HIMES) BARGER ----- Original Message ----- From: <JanieBAC@aol.com> To: <ILFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 11, 2000 7:27 PM Subject: Re: [ILFAYETT-L] Fayette County, IL > Hi Tonia, > > No, sorry. To the kind person looking up names in the cemetery books... Would you please, at your leisure, check for any Lapes? It is my understanding that there were very few by this name(I hope I'm right). Should there be too many Lapes to list, please advise. I do understand. Thank you.Bee
I am interested in any Tuxhorn names that may be in the cemetery books. Thanks for a great list. Linda
Thank you. God bless.
Could someone who has a cemetery book of Fayette County that would not mind doing a look up check for any Gatewood's that are listed? Thank you very much!
